Cardiff just stuffed Blackburn 4-1 at Ewood. Now 9 points up on us albeit one game more played. Need to win today at Watford to keep in contention.

Unless Cardiff are unlucky with injuries, they look nailed on.

Bellamy was a class apart tonight, what we wouldn't give for a finisher like him a the moment.

Blackburn defensively were pants IMO. BUT...That miss by Formica when it was still 1-2 and the last ditch tackle by Hudson on King as he broke through were the game changers though as it could have been 3-2 rovers. The last 2 goals by Cardiff just summed up how bad BR are at the back. They look way short of being a promotion contender with that defence. Maybe overall a good result in the wider scheme of things. Tigers win today and its as it was.
BTW...Cardiffs next 5 games are Posh(h) Lesta(a) Palace and Millwall(both h) over festive period with a trip to Birmingham on New Years Day.

As for the the league table i shall see what it looks like on 2nd January 2013 before saying anyone is nailed on. !!! Just saying like.

    Cardiff are notorious bottlers.

Let them feel the heat at the top.

Agree we need to keep chasing them but think I would rather snatch 2nd place in the last few weeks of the season. Of course it would be lovely to be Champions but that's for dreaming I think.

I just wonder if the Venky's ever think why did we get rid of Allardyce, when you see what has happened and where West Ham are now, it really takes some understanding.

I have a tenner on us to be champs this season,i won't throw away my slip yet. I only put it on because we were priced far too big. Cardiff were my real fancy.

Cardiff will probably implode by March as usual.

They seem to have some good experienced pro's and Bellemy is like Windass was for us that season we went up, I still fancy Cardiff and Leicester for the two promotion places but has we all know there's a long way to go, injuries will play there part and the January sells and buys could make the difference, and amongst one of the sides that could sneak in is US

My prediction was 1st Leicester 2nd Cardiff and us 6th..

You've got to imagine Cadiff are ultra motivated by seeing their Welsh rivals Swansea revelling in the big league and want a piece of it..

Cardiff have a better squad than most teams in this division. Their league position shows this.

Hopefully we'll add to ours in January and get better.

But look at how much West Ham have spent in that time, and how much Blackburn have spent...

Agreed but thats not Big Sams fault, he took that Blackburn side to 10th on a fraction of the budget he has had to spend at West Ham. It was a crazy decision to sack Big Sam, they where challenging for Europe now there in the bottom half of the Championship. Big Sam is a top manager, and one who deserves a lot more credit than what he gets. To be fair Blackburn have hardly cheaped out, i don't think Rhodes at 7M was cheap, not saying it wasn't worth it.

The Premiership has got so much harder in the last few years though, look how much QPR and Sunderland are struggling despite the quality in their squads. Blackburn would have gone down soon after anyway, they had a really **** squad. Rhodes was a big signing but happened after their relegation of course. While they were in the PL they had to make do with signing the likes of Formica and had to throw a **** load of young defenders in there.

Big Sam makes his teams effective but it isn't good for the game at all, it's because of people like him that we can't compete with Spain and Italy in terms of technique.

    Well said.
Big Sam may have the respect of some but not me.
Lower League style football provided by Premier League players, watching West Ham is like watching Bolton when he was there.

Out of curiosity, any idea how many in the Cardiff set up are Welsh?

When I saw this thread title I thought it was the inevitable happening already...

Cardiffs Malaysian owners announcing that Cardiff would play all their home games in Kuala Lumpur starting next season.

Do posters think that footballers actually share in local pride and passion.
Do they care what the next team down the road is doing as long as the money hits their bank account.

Just as a matter of interest footballers salary is always quoted as £x per week.Do they get paid weekly or monthly?
