Derby now moved ahead of us as favourites for the Championship title, with Middlesborough being backed heavily and coming up on the rails. Why? What are McClaren and Karanka doing to justify the optimism? What can Ole do to restore the faith? What is Tan going to do about it? Is there life on Mars?
Most bookmakers have us as favourites. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner
Don't want to split hairs, but it was the Oddschecker chart and the the movement I was referring to - Derby are now ahead across a raft of bookies overall. Their odds have come in as well as Boro's compared to ours that have hardly moved for weeks.
I preferred Ashes to Ashes. Keeley Hawes did it for me. Especially after seeing the rerun of Tipping the Velvet last week. As for being favourites for the title, I couldn't give one. Best to be under the radar and take 'em all by surprise. Of course that is unlikely. If we get a good start the bookies and media will be all over us like a rash. As will the media if we have a poor start.
That's not the point Bluey. This is a very serious question as to what we are doing wrong. I think Tan should take note and come out of hiding and do something. Where's he been lately? His absence in the media lately is very worrying.
Ah I see Sparks. Should he hitch his trousers a couple of inches higher, to just under his chin? Should his tache turn into a mandarin/Fu Manchu version or should he wear red trousers and shoes to match the shirt? Is that the sort of thing you mean - if he comes out of hiding?
David Lucas bookmakers are offering, 3/1 to get promoted and 10/1 to win it. They are based in Ystrad Mynach, the 3/1 option looks the best bet.
Derby were very lucky to beat Rotherham at home 1-0 with a goal in the last 10 minutes, and now they're clear favourites for the title. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner
From what little I saw on tv, Derby were fortunate to get 3 points but did possess that killer touch in front of goal; Boro were comfortable but the opponents were poor; Wolves were on the back foot until Norwich went down to 10 men; Forest were comfortable again against poor opponents; Ipswich looked useful but Fulham were not that bad; Reading were unlucky not to get all 3 at Wigan but Wigan have so much quality and experience SO on that basis with City scrapping for a workmanlike point with a makeshift team and bizarre formation, it does look (albeit very early days) like the bookies top spots will not be too far wrong.
It's way to early to tell. Could be someone we would never guess.. The championship is a cruel mistress
Talking about a poor start Blue, how did you get on with your Blackburn prediction pal? Be cool Masky
Masky, cool as a cucumber me but please remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Save your gloating for the season end.
Fulham has a lot of very talented youngster i think it will take some time to blood them in but i expect them to be a lot stronger later in the season.
