A must win again please! Hope this is not a huge banana skin...when we won the league back in 2013, we recorded 10 home wins on the bounce. We had to play Minxy’s Peterborough who sat bottom of the league and were destined for the drop. We were beaten at home 1-2, an amazing result at the time....none of that please! Cardiff City could see the return of Aron Gunnarsson after the midfielder played 45 minutes for Iceland. Joe Ralls and Craig Bryson will both miss Friday's game, whilst Callum Paterson and Neil Etheridge are available after international duty. Burton's Ben Turner and John Brayford, both former Cardiff players, are back in training after calf injuries. Lucas Akins is a doubt, but Martin Samuelsen is training after illness and recent signing Tomas Egert may feature. Match facts These sides have already met this season at the Cardiff City Stadium - Burton won 2-1 in the League Cup in August. The Brewers lost their only league trip to the Cardiff City Stadium last season, with Cardiff winning 1-0 with a 90th minute winner from Rhys Healey. Neil Warnock hasn't lost twice against the same opponent at home in a season since 2009-10, when he lost twice against Newcastle with two different clubs (Crystal Palace and QPR). Nigel Clough has won just two points in eight away league visits against Welsh opposition (P8 W0 D2 L6), with six of those winless matches against Cardiff and the other two against Swansea. Cardiff have collected 25 points from a possible 27 in home Championship games against sides currently in the bottom half of the division (P9 W8 D1 L0). Burton have had just 112 shots in away Championship games this season, 51 fewer than any other side.
Another win and it's one less game for the chasers to catch us. And everyone getting fit at the same time. It's in our hands. Just keep doing what we've been doing!
Must focus on the top 2 and to that extent only us, Wolves, Fulham and Villa are in with any real chance for an auto spot. Potentially a big opportunity today all the others away this weekend. I've predicted a 4-0 result for City in the BPPL but in all honesty, 3 points by any method will do for me.
Seen the team and City win odds far too short for me @ 2/5 so here's my go for today. £20 on City HT/FT @ 21/20 £10 on Ken to score 2 or more @ 6/1 £10 on Paterson getting an anytime goal @ 12/5 £10 on Bryson getting an anytime goal @ 5/1 That's 50 quid - let's see what if anything comes back.
The 3 points was all that really mattered but 50 on and 75 back - I'll take that. How the hell did Bryson miss that open goal - cost me 60 quid. Heading back to watch the Wolves game on the box - just stuck 20 quid of my winnings on Middlesbrough to beat them @ 21/10 - come on Pulis!!!
That ref was abysmal. I really thought he’d disallowed our 3rd. Anyway city far too strong for a plucky Burton and in reality should have been 5-6. Pity about Fulham though
We should have had six today and that ref probably had an armed guard to take him home. MOM for me was Hoilett.
I'll need to see the video replay. Can't understand the dick refereeing disallowing what appeared two good goals. The linesman was about a season behind in raising his flag for offside. Good to see Gunnar make his return. A very cold me, home and happy.
Another hard fought win but you could see we were the better side. Manga worried the life out of me at right back though. How many times was he caught out of position? Still.... if we get 15 more points from our last 8 games and we are home and dry!!! Incredible to be where we are really. I notice Derby's owner is in the stand with the fans tonight. Did someone drop an ice cube from their coke that prevented him from going up the steps to the directors box or something? Can't be too careful can you?
Free packet of rock salt with every programme. Surprised their game was on today. There's snow forecast for Monday. 2-0 down against Sunderland.
To be fair I thought Bamba was well offside. Lino just waiting for him to touch the ball. Couldn't tell from where I sat for the other one. It should have been the keeper's ball. But then again it was Byewater.
Derby look most likely to drop out of top 6. Good if it happens. Would be just if we helped them on their way to a mid table finish up at their place
