My old mate Gary Madine is looking forward to this game against his former side, a famous name in football terms. He is hoping to lead the attack, and is hoping for a brace as his teeth are protruding! He says that he is fit and showing up well in training, but NW is not seeing it for some reason? Hopes one of the “big six” will come in for him in January to kick start his careers! 2-1 City! Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ralls (groin) is back in training and could be recalled after missing two games. Neil Etheridge and Junior Hoilett returned to Cardiff on Thursday having been away on international duty. Fernando Forestieri is back for Sheffield Wednesday after serving a six-game ban for using racist language. Midfielder Sam Hutchinson is also available after a one-match suspension, while Tom Lees (hamstring) is expected to resume full training next week. Waddle could return! Match facts Cardiff City are winless in seven league matches against Sheffield Wednesday since a 2-1 victory in September 2014. Wednesday have not won in their last eight away league matches against Cardiff since a 2-1 victory in April 2007 under Brian Laws. Only Preston North End (16) have won more home points in the Championship this season than Cardiff (13). Wednesday have won none of their last 11 away league matches in Wales (Drawn 5 Lost 6). During his managerial career, the only opposite number Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk has faced more often without beating than Cardiff boss Neil Warnock (four games) is Tony Pulis (five games).
NW says his team have it all to do this week, players coming back late, lots of miles etc! WTF, home against SW, a few leisurely miles to London and a leisurely down the road trip to Swansea! Do I smell bullshhit?
One of these from morrison tonight would be good. We'd only be called long ball merchants though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/50090330
Never liked this jumped up little twerp who's career has been dogged by controversy. Typical small man syndrome - with apologies to any vertically challenged posters. I think he has an in built dislike of things Welsh. I've told this story on here before but here goes again. Back in the 1960's, there was a similar pint sized pillock of a ref, Ken Stroud, father or uncle of today's man in black. Newport had a home game v. Southport on a wet and wild winter's evening. There was a lot of water on the pitch but Newport made light of it and were an easy 3.0 up. After another heavy shower the ref, the afore mentioned Ken Stroud, abandoned the game even though the rain had stopped and the pitch was no worse than when the second half started. Now in those days a Newport win was a rare thing and a 3.0 was like Christmas coming early. The seating in the enclosure below the main stand consisted of folding wooden chairs. As the players and officials trooped off a wooden chair came flying over and connected with Mr. Stroud. Now I don't condone football violence of any sort but it was a bloidy good shot and fully deserved. However since that day and evidenced by the current Stroud's inability to give any marginal decisions for us I'm convinced the Stroud family are determined to do all they can to damage the chances of success for Welsh clubs. I hope my theory can be disproved tonight. P.S. The replayed game was a 1.1 draw depriving Newport of a point and a boost to their goal average.
Over the last 15 years he has been in charge of about 20 of our games. Only 5 wins and infamous defeats like 5.4 at Charlton and 6.0 at Preston. I rest my case your honour.
Etheridge (tough on Smithies) Peltier Morrison Flint Bennett Pack Bacuna Ralls NML Glatzel Murphy Subs: - Smithies Nelson Paterson Tomlin Whyte Ward Hoilett
Decent looking team, good bench. Is this the weather for the long ball? Oh, wait, its always the weather for the long ball.
Absolute crap by us so far. Could easily be 2 down. Not sure why Bacuna went off. Others worse than him. But why wasn't Tomlin brought on? Some creativity needed.
This is as bad as the Reading game. What can Warnock do to change things? If anything. No bite, no effort, no creativity. So pedestrian.
