Well I wonder what team we will put out against Norwich, themselves going through the mill! Will we field a full side, to try and score some goals, or almost certainly a second side? Pilkington and Tomlin must start as they are on huge money with our promotion and may sit it out...don’t think Pilks is that type of player. New keeper will get a game, as will Cunningham, Peltier and Jazz Richards. Connolly, Damour, Madine, Kadeem Harris and Danny Ward. A 2-0 win on the cards, Mick Channon expected to start after a long layoff! Channon, great player! Is he still playing?
He is big into the gee gees these days. He was part of a group of maverick players back in the day with the likes of Bowles, Currie, Marsh etc As for this tomorrow suspect it’ll be a radically changed team. Not sure I agree with that; should be playing your likely X1 v Arsenal to give them another game together.
I remember a game against Southampton at Ninian Park, finished 2-2...all I recall is Mick Channon rounding our keeper and with a gaping open goal, firing wide. It was one of those, easier to score moments! He scored one of their goals as did Bobby Stokes. Peter Osgood played that night! 29 November 1974 Score 2-2 Competition League Division Two Attendance 10,654 Okay, checking further Jack Whitham scored for us and a certain Derek Showers. I remember the name Jack Whitham, so according to Wikipedia, bless them...they helped me out thus: Whitham joined Cardiff City for the 1974-75 season, after being invited to a trial by then manager Frank O'Farrell, scoring three goals in 14 appearances before moving to Reading for the following season making 19 appearances as they were promoted from Division Four, his three goals that season all came in the same match against Hartlepool United. Whitham returned to non-League football in 1976 playing for Worksop Town, Hallam F.C. and then Oughtibridge in the local Sheffield league He then went to Hallam as manager before retiring.[5] Of course I could have asked my old friend Barry Tiger!
Frankie was at our game last Saturday. I showed my lad his wonder goal v Ipswich for Bolton; he was gobsmacked
I seem to recall previous managers would not change the team much for cup competitions Nin. However I would like to see us start with a different centre forward as well as giving a few others some game time. I will be interesting to see which team Colin puts out tonight.
Goalkeeper Alex Smithies and defender Greg Cunningham are set to make their Cardiff City debuts in Tuesday's Carabao Cup second round tie against Norwich City. Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock is set to make changes with Sunday's Premier League game against Arsenal in mind. Lee Peltier, Jazz Richards, Loic Damour and Gary Madine are expected to get game-time. Norwich boss Daniel Farke is also expected to make changes. Summer signing Emi Buendia could make his first start for the club after two substitute appearances in the last week and Mario Vrancic may also be in contention after injury. Other players who are expected to start are Christoph Zimmermann, Ben Godfrey, Dennis Srbeny and Marco Stiepermann.
Driving home after tonight's game, on the radio, there was an item on 5 Live about there being a shortage of clowns. On tonight's performance I think we have 4 or 5 we can donate to the cause.
Warnock: "The only major decision I had in my mind for Sunday I won't be doing that now... I more or less know what my team's going to be and tonight didn't put me off that, 10 out of 11 players I've got that in my mind." In other words; everybody who just played is even ****er than what we had last Saturday.
I think he was looking at what madine could do as if he didn't know, absolutly hopeless, what a waste of millions,or was it Reid another waste of 10 million, with that 15 million im sure we could have got a decent striker one that could score at least 10 goals a season, the blame is not all on the strikers as the times they get good ball in a game is so poor,we need a midfielder that has that perfect vision to give a pass that at least the strikers will have at least a 50-50 chance,i find it so frustrating watching city playing.Roll on back in the championship so we can see better and more exciting football.
I liken the prem 2 society william5551>>>>>>>the top have all the money whilst then rest of us without the silver spoon pretend we enjoy the company of the elite.......we dream of the finest things in life and strive 2 achieve that status only 2 realise its only really for the privileged from birth that are welcome at the party. we are who we are and nothing can change that..............so lets just enjoy the prawn sarnies whilst it lasts and lets look forward 2 our regular cheese and pickle when the freak show has finished.
