TEAM NEWS Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could blood some youngsters in their final Premier League clash against Chelsea. Solskjaer wants a smaller squad next season and could take the opportunity to view some fringe players on Sunday. Midfielder Frank Lampard is expected to miss a potential Chelsea farewell through illness. Samuel Eto'o and John Terry - also out of contract in the summer - are also doubts through injury while midfielder Ramires is suspended. MATCH PREVIEW At the end of every season, there is always the chance for reflection. Unless your club has had an outstanding campaign, there are plenty of discussions to be had that could be prefaced by the words "if only" or "what if". LAWRO'S PREDICTION Mark Lawrenson Football analyst "Chelsea's problem was not their results against the top teams - they beat Manchester City and Liverpool home and away, when Jose Mourinho had a plan. "They have found it more difficult against lesser teams when it has been down to the Blues to open them up, which is where a new world-class striker could make a massive difference next season. "I don't see them having problems scoring against Cardiff, though." Cardiff and Chelsea supporters probably know that feeling all-too-well over recent weeks, and of course, they are impossible questions to answer. Would the Bluebirds have been relegated had Malky Mackay still been in charge? The Scotsman recorded 4 wins in his 18 Premier League games as manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a record of 3 wins in 17 league matches so far. What if Chelsea had recorded a better run of results of late, could they have been lifting the Premier League trophy this season? They've lost three and drawn one of their last eight league matches. Whatever happens in Wales this weekend, this season will be the lowest points total Chelsea have managed under Jose Mourinho. If only Chelsea had a striker with what Mourinho described this week as a "killer instinct," as only one player, Eden Hazard, has reached double figures in the league this season. That could also be said to apply to Cardiff, where nobody has managed 10 goals or more in the league this campaign, and indeed Cardiff have failed to score in 19 of their 37 league matches. As with every last match of the season, there could be a number of farewells. Cardiff duo Steven Caulker and Gary Medel are reported to have clauses in their contracts which will be activated by relegation, while Ashley Cole seemed to be saying an emotional goodbye to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge last weekend. Chelsea won 4-1 back in October, and with the visitors having the best defence in the top division, Cardiff may end their first Premier League season on the end of a similar scoreline. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Chelsea have won the last two meetings 4-1 - the corresponding fixture in October and an FA Cup fifth-round clash in February 2010. The Blues are unbeaten in the last five league games in south Wales (L4, D1). Cardiff's last home victory against Chelsea came in February 1963. Chelsea have won only four of their last 11 Premier League games played in May. Samuel Eto'o scored his first Premier League goal in the reverse fixture. Eto'o is yet to score away from home in any competition for the Blues.
I'll comment now Masky - some nice touches from the guys, but out of our depth at this level. It's easy to say we allowed them too much possession, but to be honest they just took it. Some sloppy passing gave the ball away too often and getting it back was always going to be a problem. Although we were one up at the time, Cowie on for Daehli was as negative as it gets. Roll on next season.
