So what do we know about Burnley eh? A side who punch above their weight for the size of their town. Jimmy McIlroy, Jimmy Adamson, Alex Elder and Ray Pointer come to mind! Three good goalkeepers including our own Tom Heaton....claret and blue, but will probably be in white against us! 1-0 will do us please! :emoticon-0103-cool:

<party>C’mon Bluebirds! <party>C’mon NW, banking on you! <party>Time for action boys!

Remember going up to Turf Moor for the last game of the 1988 season (if memory serves me correctly).

We were in celebratory mood as we'd clinched promotion from the old Division 4 a week or so prior....

Great day out for a sprog like me at the time.

Think we either drew 1-1 or won 2-1 and the Burnley fans invaded the pitch and couple of times during the match...

Is your nose growing? Does Doris sit on your face and ask you to lie to her?

Could scrape a draw from this won, but a narrow defeat will come as no surprise...will we score a goal? :emoticon-0103-cool:

Cardiff City right-back Lee Peltier dislocated his shoulder against Manchester City last weekend and faces up to three months out.

Aron Gunnarsson remains sidelined with a knee injury but Sol Bamba is expected to return in defence.

Burnley midfielder Steven Defour could feature, having played his first game since January in Tuesday's League Cup defeat against Burton Albion. Prolific Striker Ray Pointer could get a start after a long layoff.

Robbie Brady and Ben Gibson remain unavailable due to injury.

@Guymowbray: To borrow an American golfing term on Ryder Cup weekend, here's a 'clutch' game even with the season still in its infancy.

Cardiff's last three games have brought increasingly heavy defeats against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, but never mind those matches, it's ones like this that will determine their Premier League future.

Burnley's win against Bournemouth last week cleared 'the fog' from the start of their season, only for a bit of mist to descend again with a Carabao Cup defeat at Burton.

Sean Dyche questioned the mindset of his players after that one. If they don't switch straight back on there may be some red mist around.

It might not be a pretty match, but it matters massively. Much more than golf ;)

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: "The fixture list has not been kind to us, the first 10 games we play seven of the top teams from last year.

"It is a little bit cruel on us, but we just have to hang in there. Apart from playing the top six, anything is winnable in this league and Burnley fall into that category."

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "Wins are difficult to come by, they've had a tough start. We've been through that ourselves in this division. We focus on what we do, the clear focus on how we perform.

"There's no easy games, every game is a big game and you have to give everything to win a game."

Cardiff were on the wrong end of a drubbing by Manchester City last weekend and they are still without a win.

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has got so much experience that I bet he has barely mentioned that defeat since. They will definitely be competitive in this game, although Burnley will cope with the physical side of their game.

    Prediction: 1-1

Lawro's full predictions v comedian Karl Pilkington

    Head-to-head

    • This is the first top-flight meeting since a 1-1 draw in March 1962.
    • Cardiff are unbeaten in the last 13 meetings in all competitions, winning four and drawing nine.
    • Nine of the last 11 league clashes have been drawn, including both Championship meetings in the 2015-16 season.
    Cardiff City

    • Cardiff have lost three consecutive Premier League matches and are without a win in their last 10 in the division, drawing three and losing seven.
    • They are without a win in seven games in all competitions this season - they last failed to win any of their first eight games of a season in 1964-65.
    • They have conceded 15 goals in their last four matches in all competitions.
    • Their tallies of three goals scored and 14 conceded are both the joint-worst records in the Premier League prior to this weekend, along with Huddersfield Town.
    • Neil Warnock has failed to win his last seven league matches as a manager against Burnley, drawing four and losing three.
    Burnley

    • Burnley have won just one of their last eight competitive games, losing six.
    • They have never beaten a promoted side away from home in the Premier League, losing five and drawing six.
    • Sean Dyche has drawn all five of his league encounters with Cardiff as a manager - two with Watford and three with Burnley.
<party>City will beat a town easy! <party>Good call Wannky!<party>6 pointer this one!

Win tomorrow moves you out the bottom three and drops Burnley in the ****. That's what you got to do, beat the teams in your mini-league. None of them are going to win many points from teams outside your league so its vital you beat them when you play. Do that through the season and you'll stay up.

    Good luck tomorrow <ok>

Gonna miss this one again! <doh> <wah>

Should be back home by now but brilliant weather (and the place itself) decided us to stay on down here over the weekend. Travelling back on Monday and no Sky in the cottage, so will be watching live this afters via Skygo on my laptop.

Maximum points today has got to be the only realistic target but they'll be a tough nut to crack. Going Gung Ho may be the best way because I'd hate us to play a waiting game, but I'd settle for a squeaky bum 1-0 with an own goal from them at the moment.

Bog off Nin (and anyone who liked his post). <ok>:emoticon-0105-wink:

Just been watching the annual "drift" of the New Forest ponies going on all this morning. They round them up on the last weekend of September with riders on horses and coral hands on foot, coral them, check 'em over ready for the winter.

They worm them, brand them, cut their tails and stick new reflective collars on them to avoid night time accidents.

There are over 4000 New Forest ponies roaming on the heathland and in the Forest (that's a lot of horseshit!!) - they can't half shift when provoked, it's like bloody Bonanza out there.....<laugh>

What's this got to do with today's game? Feck all really except I hope our guys can move as quick as them and be just as feisty. <ok>

Dunno how we managed to lose that. Suppose the positive is that we competed well and were the better side but that counts for nowt if we can’t take advantage and score.
