Dare we believe that another three points are coming our way Tuesday? what a massive statement of inevitability that would be! Ben Turner looks set for a return to the Cardiff line-up after missing the last two games with an ankle problem. Ben Nugent, who picked up a dead leg in Saturday's win over Bristol City, looks likely to step aside. Brighton could have skipper Gordon Greer back after missing three matches with a hamstring injury. Ashley Barnes is suspended and fellow striker Will Hoskins is out with a knee injury suffered against Blackburn but the Bluebirds have no other worries. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • These clubs have met 60 times competitively since 1921, and each has won 21 of them. • Four of the last seven Championship matches between Cardiff and Brighton have been drawn, including the reverse fixture in August, which was goalless. • Cardiff lost this fixture 3-1 last season; their first defeat in 10 home league fixtures against the Seagulls spanning 20 years. Cardiff City • Cardiff are flying high, eight points clear at the top of the table and on a nine-match unbeaten league run of seven wins and two draws. Peterborough is the only club to have denied them at least a point in 16 outings. • Three points would see the Bluebirds maintaining their 100% home record against the top 17 clubs, and provide manager Malky Mackay the present he will be looking for on his 41st birthday. • Defender Andrew Taylor is anticipating his 250th start for the club. Brighton & Hove Albion • Brighton lie immediately below the play-off places, but four points adrift after only one win in six league and cup matches. • Had the Seagulls converted their 13 draws into wins, they would have been seven points clear at the top of the table. • Gus Poyet's charges have not lost a league game in which they have opened the scoring this term, and have not won one in which the opposition has scored first.
Had the Seagulls converted their 13 draws into wins, they would have been seven points clear at the top of the table. And had they converted their 13 draws into defeats, they would have been three points clear of the bottom of the table and relegation fodder
And if we had converted all our draws to wins in any of the last three seasons we would be in the premiership.
It's Malky's birthday is it? It's also my favourite guitarists birthday today too, so that has to be a good Omen!
Anyone think the Seagulls are going to be braver than the scarecrows last week and try to **** all over our home record? They are there abouts for a playoff position at the moment so need the 3 points to keep in contention. Could be a good open game.
If they have any hopes of playoffs they have to come at us, don't they? Well maybe not, a point at our place would be a result for them, there is enough games left for them to get their 3 points at other games. Might see them park the bus and hope for a lucky break! I think it would be suicide for them to come at us, but if it's in their nature?
A big, physical side who will close us down as much as possible. Not so great up front with Barnes and Hoskins both out. They are draw specialists for a reason.
Who writes this **** for the BBC? Is it even Malky's birthday? What annoys me is this ****e is obviously being compiled by someone who doesn't know anything about football full stop. Surely there is a wannbe sports journo in their ranks who cares enough to at least get stuff as simple as nick names right. the 'if they'd won all their matches stat' is the most ridiculous filling of space I've ever seen.
leicester losing, watford winning. A couple good chance for us. Need one to go in while we're on top.
