My old buddies Bob Hatton and Bob Latchford have been on to Masky this week, asking about Gary Madine. They can’t believe that this magnificent prolific striker cannot get into this Cardiff side, a side that is firing blanks week after week. Masky is well informed and extremely knowledgable about all things City, but has no answers to this conundrum, other that to say he is much loved and admired by us here! Apparently he gives 50% of his wages to Children In Need every week, as he not contributing fug all else. We wished each other well, and called for a visit from the Winky Wannky bird very soon...that is when Aber’s finished with him! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Cardiff City will be without striker Robert Glatzel who has been ruled out for the next few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Lee Tomlin, Curtis Nelson, Sol Bamba and Junior Hoilett are also all doubts for Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock.

Blues boss Pep Clotet has confirmed Jefferson Montero will not be risked despite a return to first-team training after a thigh injury. Frank Worthington unavailable, out with a calf strain.

The on-loan Swansea winger has not played since August.

    Match facts
    • Cardiff City are unbeaten in their last six home league matches against Birmingham (W4 D2 L0) since a 2-1 defeat in September 2008.
    • Birmingham's last four league games against Cardiff have all seen a different manager in charge - Gary Rowett, Gianfranco Zola, Steve Cotterill and Garry Monk.
    • Cardiff City are one of three teams unbeaten at home in the Championship this season (W4 D2 L0), along with Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion.
    • Birmingham City have not won three consecutive league games since October 2018, when they won four in a row.
    • This is Neil Warnock's seventh consecutive league meeting with Birmingham facing a different manager (McLeish, Clark, Rowett, Zola, Cotterill, Monk, Clotet).
    • No team have scored fewer away Championship goals this season than Birmingham (four, level with Barnsley).

You forgot young Trevor Francis and Mel Sutton, the spider, to leave some stud marks on his shins.

    Otherwise a good thread.

    No mention of Peaky Blinders?

Need to get 3 points on the board.
Be interesting to see the team named. Seem limited in out attacking options with the injuries.

Nelson starts, no sign of Morrison. Hoillett starts and Tomlin on the bench.

Ralls is Citys best all round player and the side should be built around him.

Got to admit that despite my previous reservations, Ralls was immense today - the best game I've ever seen him play - ever!

Pack wasn't far behind and keeping those two in front of our back 4 will ensure we don't get relegated with or without Warnock.....<whistle> :emoticon-0105-wink:

In all seriousness, that was the sort of game reminiscent of two seasons back - more like that and we'll trouble anyone in this division - now just do it on the road as well.

So are we saying Morrison should step aside for Nelson?
Ward seeing red means another change up front as well.
We never make it easy for ourselves.

Do you think we ought to play with ten every week?

I’ve got no problem with Bogle. Prefer him to Ward anyway.

The real problem though is who is our reserve striker on the bench?

    Madine<yikes>

Our possession stats are so low with 11 men anyway the sending off barely made any difference.

Got a feeling yesterday that the players turned that game around on the pitch rather than from the side of it. It wasn't working for 20 minutes but Pack seemed to get involved as captain and took control. Both Ralls and Hoilett responded in the middle and the team shape got a lot better.

I didn't see much action from the touchline, and I don't like "player power" in principle, but yesterday the win came from that. I'm not saying they overuled the gameplan, but they knew what to do and seemd to sort it themselves.

Ralls was like a man possessed and Pack must be the signing of the seasom - mind you he hasn't got a lot to beat when you consider the others.
