Hmmmm...this fixture always reminds me of the corresponding fixture some years back! Thing is Masky found two Barnsley “so called” fans kicking a hedgehog (which was curled up in a protective ball) about before the match. Masky being a big fugger went in to sort them out....only to hear someone shout....”Don’t interfere, the hog is 2-0 up!” fug me thought Masky!
When I think of Barnsley I always remembered Michael Parkinson going on about them. Showing my age here!
Cardiff could welcome midfielder Joe Ralls (groin) back into the squad. Boss Neil Harris has taken seven points from his first three games in charge of the Bluebirds and might stick with the same XI that started the 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest. Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber could also name an unchanged team after they ended a 17-match winless run with victory over Hull City last week. Forward Mallik Wilks remains doubtful because of illness. Match facts Cardiff City have lost just one of their past 10 league meetings with Barnsley (W6 D3), a 4-3 home defeat in December 2016. Barnsley's last league match at the Cardiff City Stadium was in March 2018, losing on their way to being relegated that season. Cardiff have won back-to-back league games, having won just one of their past seven. They last won three in a row in February/March 2018 (a run of eight). Barnsley are winless in their past 16 Championship away games (D3 L13) since a 2-0 win at Birmingham in February 2018. Cardiff City have had just 18 open play sequences in which they have completed 10 or more passes in the Championship this season - 23 fewer than any other team. Barnsley are looking to win consecutive Championship matches for the first time since November 2017 under Paul Heckingbottom.
Gonna report this to a moderator on the grounds of suggestion and persuation...disgusting! CCFC, FFS pal, pull your pants up and move on!
Agree. No reason to change a side coming back home after winning on the road other than injury concerns and I haven't heard of any. The eleven that started at Forest should have too much for Barnsley. Ralls maybe back in contention but then who do you leave out to accomodate him? Bacuna may be in the frame if anyone, but he's been doing well and I'd leave it alone for this one. Madine will surely get the nod again up front after his efforts, with Tomlin pulling the strings. No reason to change the widemen - NML and Junior should start. Pack and Bacuna sitting in midfield behind that lot, and the same back 4 should start again as a unit. Those on the bench will have plenty of time to force their way back into the side - and that includes Ralls even if fully fit.
Dunno why, but I just stuck £8 @ 11/2 on Huddersfield to beat Leeds in the early kick off today. Seemed like decent odds on the home side to me. Let's see how my luck is before I chance my arm on the City game..........
Sod it. City odds on today - not for me thank you. Going for a City/City, HT/FT result @15/8. C'mon City get an early goal please.
