Thats a difficult one to work out. Their fans forum is showing a majority have accepted it. Derby are playing Preston on Wednesday and if they win CCFC will be back in the bottom 3. Personally I think they will drop if only to give our local media from bigging them up all the time.
Quite a few of us expect to suffer the drop. If that happens it is inevitable we will lose some of our "better" players and even some youngsters who have, at last, been given game time, in the main have done well, and cannot be held responsible for the mess we are in. It is unlikely we will bounce back like Birmingham. I said last autumn that we had the worst Championship level side since the mid 70's when we were truly awful. We have played some better football in 2025 and, at last made some signings in the January window which improved the team - Salech, Alves and Mannsverk in particular. However, most games we make some stupid mistakes which result in goals against. Ironic when Richard Shaw was brought in as defensive coach. We have 7 games to save our status, 3 home and 4 away. 2 of the away at Sheff Utd and Norwich. On the plus side we have Oxford and Stoke at home plus West Brom. We really do need results in the home games and at QPR and Preston. We rarely do well at those places. Many think Riza was not qualified to take over from Bulut and that is looking more so with unsettled team selections and odd substitutions. He seems a good guy and is liked by the players many of whom did not get on with Bulut. However nice guys rarely win games. If we go down I hope we can renew rivalries again in the Championship again in a season or two.
I’m not so sure. Derby seem to have a bit more about them since the change of manager but they are still down there. We have them on Saturday and we need the win - hence that will be doing Cardiff a favour if it happens. I think it will come down to the last weekend.
I hope they stay up as it's the only 2 games that have any real atmosphere and a bit of excitement in the championship. Plus we want some more double doubles
I think that Cardiff will stay up. I have a few friends who are Cardiff fans and I hope for their sake that they avoid the drop. As @swantastic wrote above, the derbies are “the only 2 games that have any real atmosphere and a bit of excitement in the championship.”
With both Luton and Derby finding some form, I wouldn't even say that Preston are safe. We've got two massive games next week Derby and Plymouth. 6 points needed.
In saying all that, the Bluebirds will be Jacks for the day on Saturday. A Swans win over the Snow Queens will be much appreciated. Come on you JB's!!! I thank you.
Arctic lorry load of black n white scarves n No.1 team in Wales Jack shirts winging their way to B end. And Cdiff tomorrow morning !
