Malky had been in the job for about a month at the time. It was a week or so off the start of the season when I got fed up with the constant Leicester/Hammers/Brum pundit choices for promo we were getting chucked at us. I felt we could surprise this lot. No real idea why - just a sort of a gut feeling, and probably a bit of wishful thinking to be honest.

Never have been a gambling man in the real sense (Chopra mode), but I like a speculative punt now and again. So I gave Mr. Hill some of my money just before the season started at West Ham - a fair bit too, and I've mentioned the amount on here before.

I got 16/1 on City topping the Championship, and 5/1 for promotion by any other route.

Haven't bothered to look on WH since to see how they've shifted - until today. The odds on City taking top spot have halved to 8/1, and you'll only get 9/4 now on promotion by any route.

No pressure fellas but.............Come on you Malky Monsters!!!!!!!!

Good shout Sparkey. I am really chuffed at the way the team is performing. I'm on record here somewhere saying that we might finish about 10th this year and kick on next season but we are producing the results week in week. Okay, there's a long way to go but everything is looking pretty good at the moment. Here's hoping you relieve Mr Hill of quite a lot of his money, preferably at 16-1 !!

I'm looking for 60 points or thereabouts by Game 30, and if we get past Christmas relatively unscathed it is well do-able, even allowing for two losses and a draw, but I honestly don't think we will drop that many looking at the games we have to play. Do the predictor as honest as you can based or current results across the league and see what ya get. The futures bright.

MM reackons he's after a striker and a winger in January but isn't looking to splash the cash. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...ad-in-january-transfer-market-91466-29914610/

I'd hope for two wingers but hey ho.

Middlesbrough, Reading and Southampton look the tough games to the end of Jan, but we know what the other teams are capable of and Watford will have a point to prove. WBA and two games against Palace during that time means it will be a tough time for our squad. I can see us losing 2 or 3 league games just because of volume, though hope I am wrong.

If we can be in touch with the top two come the new year we'll be there or there abouts at the end of the seasson, and the beers are on Sparkey.

Cheers Irish - if we go up as Champs, it'll be 21/1 not 16/1.:emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:

Remote - I'd like nothing more than to be able to honour that. <ale>

Just noticed that Kenny Miller is offered at 25/1 for Championship top scorer and Whitts isn't even in the betting at bar 66/1. <yikes>

Maybe worth a bob or two flutter on either or both of those the way we're going. They seem to think Lambert at 7/4 has got it sewn up with Rossco as second favourite out at 8/1. Bit early for that - Soton are due a bad run (I hope! <laugh> )

Interesting stuff this.....quite exciting to be honest.
There is a lot of talk about the January window, now with the team firing well at this time who would need to be repaced....who are the weak links? If we sign player`s of a so called better quality than we currently have, who would have to drop down, or are we talking of squad strenghtening only?

TMM, largely strengthening, providing cover. A tricky winger to give another string to the bow would be good as well.

If we can bring in someone better than what we have with the person he replaces being the cover, so much the better.
