Cardiff Board Rules + Guidance...Please Read :)

Hi there!

first of all welcome to the board of the team representing the capital city of wales, cardiff city fc.

secondly, please take a minute to read the following guidelines about posting on our board

hopefully one of the reasons people enjoy using this forum is because of the thing at the top of your page: 'comment debate create freely'. there needs to be a balance between keeping debate on here light hearted and enjoyable, but not at the cost of deleting loads of posts / threads that could be loosely described as 'abusive' or 'wumming'.

WUMS (wind up merchants):
personally i take the view that if someone posts a thread with little no reference to football, an obvious WUM, then it adds nothing to the board and will be deleted. i understand there is a grey area whereby people who are obviously wumming try to dress up their posts as football related but we arent stupid and we see right through it.

also, although this board is open to fans of all clubs, of which we get many visiting daily, it is run mainly in the interests of the lovely people who keep this forum ticking over with some great threads and posts (cardiff fans), not in order to protect the 'freedom of speech' of wums......

Swearing:
is allowed but please spell a swear word correctly so that people who have a swear filter dont have to see it.

Insults:
if they are personal, then they add nothing to the board and often, as threads can rumble on for days with people trading insult after insult, they will be deleted, and if you are intent on point scoring thats up to you if you've got nothing better in your life to do, but do so on the banter thread as most people dont give 2 hoots about it and dont want it cluttering up decent threads..... banter is acceptable but constant name calling, personal insults are not. another grey area here but use your common sense here.....unless you are thick you should know the difference.....only problem is the people who this rule applies to usually are......

if you are constantly annoying members and people are so sick of it that they are forced to complain to a mod, then you will, depending on severity, get a temp ban, if you keep on and ignore this warning then you could be banned.....this only applies to a small amount of idiots, you know who you are

Innapropriate Content:
In my view posting anything which you which could be interpreted as offensive should be avoided, and this includes obvious things like pornography, drugs, racism and so on, use your common sense here...... if you are unsure of whether something is acceptable then chances are it is, but if you want to double check PM me and i'll get back to you asap.....until then wrap the thing you are intending to, or have, posted in NSFW tags, this can be done if you go on 'go advanced' of the post / thread.....

Finally please remember that modding a board isnt easy, for every post i am asked to remove, there is someone behind it asking me why. i cannot be online 24/7 (unlike the trolls it seems ) so please dont assume that if someone has posted something inappropriate and i havent been online since to remove it, that i agree with it...
