After us guffing up the last two in the final seconds, I'm pretty convinced we will go down tamely tomorrow night.

3-1 or 2-0 a prediction. Really irritated with them two late goals, we'd be joint top now! grrrrr

Come on town lets make it 9 unbeaten :)

Apparently Russell Slade put out the team that the fans wanted on saturday and it worked. Could be our biggest test in the last 9 games.

Hate to say I'm going for an unarrogant 2-0 to Cardiff, but crossing everything I can muster for a good result.

Can only see another spirited and dogged display but ultimately coming out with yet another draw

    1-1

Soon to be labelled the 'draw specialists' in the league

A very tough game but we have a decent record against them on our travels.

    Cardiff 0-2 Town

    2-1 Town.
Mick would have made it clear that we screwed up in the last two matches and will put the fire in their bellies for this one.

I think it should be quite a good game this.

Really hoping Cardiff line up 4-4-2, if they do I fancy us to really get hold of the middle and cause them problems.

Could do with Murphy back! Could Collison perhaps get a look in on the bench?

Sounds like Kevin Bru had a good game Saturday by all accounts.

Bishop will play tonight Westy ahead of Bru.

What a lovely problem we have now in Midfield with all these different options.

The likes of Collison cant even get on the bench at the minute which says a lot for the quality we now have in Midfield.

Are we potentially a little bit lightweight if Bishop/ Williams / McGoldrick/ Murphy and Sammon play? That'd be a lot of weight on Skuse's shoulders!

I have a feeling Tabb may start, and it won't be on the left wing so I have no issue with him battling away in the centre of midfield.

Hello guys - always look forward to this one. We've had some tough games against you in the past and there's nothing wrong with that.

Before Ole was elbowed, and even since then when temporarily under Young and Gabbidon, I'd have said we'd struggle to get a grip with your type of game. The reason - we didn't have a fecking clue how to organise a side to win a game on merit, and were just trying to counter everything the opposiiton had.

No organisation, no consistency nor pattern, and 25 different bloody players have been slung in the Championship ring by OGS and the others in just 11 games!! We've been rudderless and to be honest, a bloody shambles. Slade seems to have got this group of talented but directionless players performing as a team at last over the international break. The individual quality has always been there, but it hasn't been coordinated until the Forest game last Saturday.

I'd say right now we should win this one tonight if we play with the same intent as against Forest. I'm not trying to be rude, but the biggest danger to us (and the best chance for you) would be if we showed you too much respect. With the squad Slade has available, if he picks the right blend and carries on taking the game to you rather than sitting back should we get in front, there SHOULD only be one winner. Of course, if you get in front, that is going to test Slade on another front as to how he'll pull it back.

We've squandered 2 goal leads twice before this season already, and we could have made it 3 times against Forest the way we dropped back to defend the lead on Saturday. Hope that doesn't happen again and we end up in another Rorke's Drift rearguard watching the clock tick down.

tbf sparky, if you take the game to us that is what we want, when we have to take the game to an opponent it throws us a little, we love a good old fashioned blood and thunder game.

We are on a run of 8 games unbeaten and we have played some very tough away games in this run including Wigan, Derby and Forest so I am confident of getting something out of the the game tonight. Indeed I am confident of picking up all 3 points. You may have a great team of individuals but we play as a close knit and highly organised team which is highly motivated and full of energy. We play a high tempo pressing game so your back 4 will be put under pressure and you will need to be careful how you play out from the back. We have developed this annoying habit of conceding late goals which have resulted in draws when we should have won but this is something that Mick will have addressed. It will be a hard fought game but nontheless a game we should win given our current form.

Got a feeling this is going to one of them Guru - an oldfashioned "get stuck in" game with the team with the greater balls on ther night coming through.

That doesn't mean the game should be devoid of skill - I just think both of us need to win this one rather than drawing it. From what I know of McCarthy in the past, his teams wont hold back on effort.

Most of us could do with another game to watch like the last one - hopefully with the same result.

You may see that same fall back into defense tactic from us if we are a goal ahead in the final fifteen Sparkey.
I don't fear this game at all, in fact I'm not overly worried about going up against any team in the league due to what Mick has instilled into this group of players. Cardiff, if they play well, will be yet another tough test, but then they all are in this division.
I still think we could sneak a win from this game but it's not going to be easy.

Some of you guys might remember I said at the start of the season when I posted a thread on this forum that I expected you to be top 6 this year - I still think that, in fact even more after these first dozen games. Can't ignore the fact that McCarthy will push it all the way until the death.

I thought we would have done much better ourselves up until last weekend and was expecting us to be knocking around the top with Wigan, Wolves and your near neighbours. Only Wigan have let me down so far along with ourselves.

We have not been at the races at all and we'll now have to do it the hard way, but there were very positive vibes on Saturday. If you do beat us tonight, I'll be surprised as well as disappointed.
