CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL CLUB PLEDGE A MILLION POUND PREMIER LEAGUE DONATION TO LOCAL COMMUNITY CHARITIES

As the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season draws near, Cardiff City Football Club and Tan Sri Vincent Tan are privileged today to announce details of an innovative charity provision as a means to support the sterling and tireless work by many in the local community.

Today we are launching our ‘Thanks a Million’ campaign, the brainchild of Tan Sri Vincent Tan which will see Cardiff City Football Club donate one million pounds to selected local charities. Furthermore, Tan Sri Vincent Tan has also pledged that Cardiff City Football Club will repeat this million pound donation annually to community based organisations for as long as he remains the club’s majority/controlling shareholder and the club remains in the Premier League.

With the input of club staff, management and players, approximately fifty Welsh connected charities and community schemes have been selected to ensure the contributions stay in Wales, supporting those who support us.Representatives of the first year selected charities have been invited to Cardiff City Stadium for an official ‘Thanks a Million’ reception, lunch and presentation on Thursday 15th August 2013, with Cardiff City Chairman Mehmet Dalman, Malky Mackay and the senior squad in attendance.

Speaking of the initiative, Tan Sri Vincent Tan said, “I firmly believe that Cardiff City’s promotion to the Premier League after a long fifty one year wait to play at the top level is a blessing – and with the grace of God we want to use this blessing positively to support the charitable organisations and disadvantaged members of the South Wales community, in particular in Cardiff and the valleys where most of our supporters are based.

“Our promotion to the best league in the world is by no means the result of one person, but the collective hardworking efforts of many good people, namely management, coaches, staff, players and most importantly the fans of this great club. Together we can look forward to the challenge and excitement of the season ahead, and for every year we remain in the Premier League and I remain the majority and controlling shareholder, all at Cardiff City Football Club are honoured to share our Premier League rewards with the local community, helping those in need.”

Cardiff City Chairman Mehmet Dalman added, “On behalf of all at Cardiff City I’d like to place on record my thanks and appreciation to Tan Sri Vincent Tan for this substantial million pound charity donation initiative. I am given to understand this is the first time a Premier League club is making a charitable effort of this nature, and if that is true, then as the Club Chairman, I am indeed happy and proud to be a part of it.”

“The club’s backing of community organisations across Cardiff and the valleys deserves great credit, which all of us are proud to be associated with. I am sure that this donation will be well received and utilised, while all at Cardiff City Football Club look forward to continuing our longstanding community support for years to come.”

Welcome to the world of business you numpty, it's called dividends which the board are entitled to for their sterling work over the last decade to get the club to where it is now. Swansea City have helped out many good causes but we don't need to brag about it like you lot to make ourselves feel important. All it is is a PR stunt by your master to get you idiots to like him after he destroyed over 100 years of history by ripping the heart and soul from ccfc with his bare hands!!

Did you pay back all those businesses you ripped off when you went into admin?

How about a donation to the Cardiff City fans who helped out when you lot came with the begging buckets?

Our history hasnt been wiped out.

Part of our history is we changed to red shirts. Im not happy with that and hopefully we will be back in blue.

Also a part of our history is our fans helping your club out when you came with the begging buckets.

Part of Swanseas history is your administrations.

    Cant change history.

You are a fairly recent visitor to our board and you demean your whole arguement with your first sentence. Please cut out the petty name calling and stick to the points mentioned in the thread in future.

KDA, I treat others as they treat me. You are obviously here to antagonise not join a debate. As for name calling I may have fallen into the trap when responding in kind but I have never started a thread or post with petty name calling. I am not crying like a baby, as you so eloquently put, I am here to try and keep sanity on the board. You and others clearly do not want to engage in a decent football related thread.

Who is squealing like a pig? The thread title is provocative but the content of the post contain nothing related to the Swans. So no I am not taking the moral high ground. KDA started his response by petty name calling which actually dilutes his comments somewhat.

You acknowledged, but basically ignored it all the same.

He provoke, he get a reaction, you don't like, tough titty.

Taffy, your first post was too KDA for his comment, but nothing said about mr bean here provoking the reaction, with the title off his topic, why is that? Surely stopping the provoking would be the best way to clean up your board?

So you're saying an innocuous comment i.e." Cardiff 1mill to Charity, Swans 2 mill to their board." deserves personal insult? Come on even you cannot be that blinkered!

Do you honestly believe that post was not created to cause yet another upset. and if not then why did he feel the need to post it on the Swansea board. You know it and the rest of the world know that he did it for maximum effect .For some reason he went into melt down last night ,sad in away as it's only a public forum, not life and death

Not at all taff, my point is that if someone provokes, they will get a response, these sort of topics are not helping your board. So it is all well and good bringing up KDA's numpty comment, but you have to ask, what was said for him to respond in that manner, there must have been something that "provoked" him into saying such things. And in the end, it turns out to be a topic with a provoking title by one of your fans.

The title alone was always asking for trouble. He got it, leave it at that, and what happens in this topic, stays in the topic so to speak. If you want to keep the topic clean, the only way is to either re-edit the title to be less provoking, or close the topic. You cannot keep the topic clean whilst the title still remains. You will be fighting a losing battle.

Taff: If you're saying "" Cardiff 1mill to Charity, Swans 2 mill to their board." isn't provocative to the Jacks then you need to rethink your position as mod. No wonder Sparkey and others are pissed off. This is just Hughs in another guise - you know it and so does everyone else. He's wreaking havoc on our board as we speak - until he's banned. At least we only do that to dispruptive posters from Cardiff not those who talk footie.

We've seen the terrible results on Internet trolling this week in the media and whilst I'm not suggesting that would happen here the guy is a few pepperoni short of a pizza and your support of him only makes him more emboldened.

Have a rethink if you don't want to lose more posters. <ok>
