Just seen they've broke their transfer record again 3rd time this window. What's going on down there? Have they signed cheaper players too or just the big 3?
I think just the 'Big 3'. Although they did sign Brayford from Derby County, he was only about £2m. They still missed out on most of their first choice targets though? I know they were after Capoue, Ince sacked them off. I think it will be a tough season for Mackay.
Nice joke but not apt. I've seen he cost £150k which seems cheap. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/new-cardiff-city-keeper-simon-5376735
We were going to in January, but we were offered the more experienced Stockdale and took him instead. It all depends on how these signings bed in, but I think they'll finish above us next season.
That won't make up for the lack of a quality striker although if we can get an holding midfield player and somebody like deeney as well as the midfield/forward gelling and creating chances we will do OK.
To an extent - then it's down to the manager employing the right training, tactics and personnel to do the job. If it was just the team and playing a 4-4-2 formation (last season) then I doubt we'd have been promoted. Bruce identified the best formation for the players at his disposal, which ultimately earned us promotion.
He will of course have an impact, and Bruce was definitely a big factor in us getting promoted last season, but I don't think we can expect to finish above anyone next season based only on our manager.
steven caulker is very good signing and i think you will find a lot of spurs fans were pretty disgruntled/shocked that they let him go. cournelius is un-proven at this level but i think he will come good on the youtube evidence. brayford was one of the best defenders in the championship last season and i expect him to make the step up. and gary medel who signed yesterday is certainly no mug. He gained cult status in sevilla over the last 2 seasons for keeping the lionel messi quiet...so i believe we have signed very well so far and IMO i think we will finish higher than you guys again. on the subject of managers i think we have the better one. the fact we won the championship last year ahead of you could go a little way to justifying it. I think bruce is a good manager but i think he peaked a few years back and is now one of those that clubs turn to to get them out of the championship which of course he deserves massive credit for but then only to be sacked the season after they get relegated. Again that's not a dig its just how i see it. Malky i believe will probably go on to bigger things than us and he's very much in a similar mold to moyes .... anyway no hard feelings and enjoy the ride.
and then i woke up?? i think if remember rightly we were better than you over the course of last season... also if you can be bothered to look you may find some of my info on our players signed is not as deluded as you seem to think...
Fair enough, I can't argue with your assessment of your players, but I think Bruce is a better manager than Malky is. Just that Premier League experience and knowledge of the top level will aid be an advantage. It's like Phil Brown; during our first season he seemed to get everything right, the signings, the media and the tactics. But then, when it started going tits up, his lack of experience meant he had no plan B and we scraped by. Bruce seems to have more than one plan and has bought players that can play across a number of positions, as well as compliment our current crop of youngsters.
"Malky i believe will probably go on to bigger things than us and he's very much in a similar mold to moyes ...." He's Scottish and that's about it.
