Anyone going this evening? I'm looking forward to it personally, see some of the fringe players in action.

Hoping for a decent cup run, boost some confidence and give the bench warmers a run out.

    I just hope it's not still 0-0 at 90 minutes <yikes>

Barry Tiger and I will be there. Not too many fringers or Devpt Squad players please.

Another win will keep the ball rolling.

Will also encourage more to attend Saturday.

I hate night matches, bad enough in the league. I won't bother for this cup match.

I won't be there either - going to save up my first game of the season for Villa on Saturday.

This sort of EFL/Carabao cup game doesn't really do it for me. It isn't the ticket money - a tenner is bugger all if your so inclined - it's just not my cup (pun) of tea thank you.

Best of luck to those of you that do support the lads this evening. <ok>

I just hope whatever happens and whoever Warnock plays, it doesn't cock up the gameplan for the Villa game - we must set our sights on that.

A bit more depth to the squad this year. Loic, Mendez - laing, connolley, jazz, kennedy, okeefe, ward.

    Perhaps give Harris a run.

Add a couple from Saturday and it's a half decent side.

Get the Swiss army knife out as well.

One or two first teamers on the bench with a couple academy guys.

    Happy Days.

interesting team with a strong bench.

I like the balance. A couple youngsters on the bench as well depending on which way the game is going.

Harris is out for 3 months. Needs an op.

Agree the squad looks a lot better though <ok>

Sorry Stevo, meant young Mark not Kadeem. realise the latter is out.

Seems a bit disjointed at the moment.

    no worries Stevo.

Yeah, dire. Looks a decent line up as well. Lets see what Colin does with the bench.

Most of the grounds seem empty, who wants to turn up and see the reserves in these games. Charge a £1 and fill the ground, and play a full team with one fringe player only. Gotta be better! :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Mendez-Laing makes a difference again.

First competitive goal for us as well.

The Swiss Army Knife secures our progression to the next round! Bet it was a 30 yard dipping volley worthy of goal of the season <laugh> He must start against Villa!

Just seen the goals. Cool finish by Mendez-Laing (bloody double barrelled names) and a bit of a lash by the Knife.

M-L must be pushing for a start.

2 from 2. We'd have lost that at the start of last season. Liking the way things are shaping up!

Dreadful first half. Pilks running around like a fart in a thunderstorm. Sensible to yank (I said yank) him off at half time. M-L made an immediate difference and we played with a lot more energy second half.

Kennedy had a good game and showed why he should stay and not Noonie. We could have had 6 and should have had 4. Better finishing needed.

Leave judgement on other new signings for a couple more games.

I have to give it to Pompey, they gave us a bloody good going. Dreadful game. Great to see another win though, albeit as scrappy as it was.

We're going to need to win quite a few games that way if we're going to be top six at season end.

I see the extra sub during extra time came into play last night. Always thought if you're allowed 3 subs in 90 mins why not 4 in 120.
Change for the good for once.
Nice to have enough on the bench to make 4 changes.

And the subs improved the performance again.

M-L looked very sharp in the highlights. Couple of fabulous final balls that deserved better. Zohore will thrive off that sort of service.

It's very promising that a number of Warnocks additions look worth while already.
I think the club is benefiting from allowing someone who 'know's what it takes' managing our recruitment.
