Boris will put a compulsory purchase order on it and Mr Tony " Arthur Daley " Mendes will have no say whatsoever, And as our own Tony has a bit more clout than Mendes and as our plans offer 17,000 more homes than Mendes's we all know which way Boris will go. You know it, I know it, and deep down the jumped up used car salesman knows it as well.
Does he? A couple of failed or failing business ventures and his flagship enterprise (us) in deep financial doo doo due in no small part to his naivete and belief that all he has to do is to spend big against the owner of the most successful car supermarket in the country. Just a question. Convince me.
HS2 cuts through a swathe of Tory heartlands, if the polls don't look too good for them in the next few months don't be surprised to see it scrapped and without it the viability of the whole project would be compromised. I think in ten years time we'll still be at Loftus Road...
View attachment 34188 The 30,000 capacity VW Arena, Wolfsburg, was built in 2002 for 53 million Euros (I'm guessing the land was cheap/free). It's brilliant. Personally, I'd rather we focussed on building something like this, even if its on a brownfield site in Hillingdon or Hounslow, in the foreseeable future than dick around forever on a massive development where the stadium is a sideshow. If we can't even get started on a new training ground, what chance has Old Oak got? I sat in the VW Arena for less than half the price of what it costs (even with season ticket) at Loftus Road, in much greater comfort, great view (every spot in the ground has this, 'restricted view' my arse) good and affordable food and beer, and a great atmosphere (we can match this at least, but not I think in a 40,000 seater) and realised what a rip off Premiership football is - in fact its an insult, especially at Loftus Road. Why is it so different? Simple, the German fans have a say in how their clubs are run (less so in Wolfsburg's case, but seems to make no difference) and won't put up with ludicrous ticket prices, expensive and poor quality beer and wurst. They will shell out huge amounts for replica kit though, for some reason.
Tony Crooks has promised us … thinking he may not be all that in this country at business As for Car Giant well that looks daft as well … I think the car market will change a lot in the next 15-20 years, time it is completed what will they be selling?
i was talking to my old fella at the weekend, he asked if i was looking forward to watching Rangers in there new shiney stadium,i will be 60 in a couple of weeks and told him it wont happen until after they have nailed the lid down on my box.
