I do get nervous everytime sensible pops up to Kent.....that I'll see him sailing down the Medway dressed up as Captain Pugwash........at least Folkstone is something like 70 miles from here........he would have to sail up the Thames Estuary from the Medway......and turn left (starboard or Port....I don't know) up the river Cray to get anywhere near me.....probably need longer than a weekend to do that.

Oi!!! 14 years before the mast if you don't mind. Port is left by the way.

I used to do a bit of sailing but haven't for a lot of years now. Not since the Navy made metal ships anyway. Was a fairly enjoyable weekend with the warmest weather so far this year for me. Bit of a bummer today though. The coach was delayed leaving the hotel because one bloke didn't turn up. Apparently a regular traveller and the driver knew him well and said it was not like him to be late for anything. He got the Hotel to check his room but they said it was empty so it was a mystery. Driver got his HQ to check all the local hospitals and so on and then went back into the Hotel for a final look. Found out the bloke sent to the room had only knocked on the door and got no answer so insisted on being taken to the room himself and the door opened. The bloke was still in bed and as dead as a dodo. Bit of a bleeding shock for everyone on the coach as the bloke had been in the bar the previous evening until late dancing away. He seemed a nice bloke having spoken to him and it was a hard job for the poor driver who had to meet his daughter in Plymouth to hand over his purchases from the weekend which was rather a lot.

A sad ending to your weekend sensible........must of been a sombre trip home once you got on the road.

I and Mrs Plymborn had a great day out yesterday, just approximately 25 miles from Folkestone. We where down Broadstairs by 10 am.....lovely little historic town, associated with Charles Dickens. The weather was cloudless all day (just a bit of early mist for the sun to burn-off).....wall to wall sunshine....must of been 70/72F all day.....walked along the coast to Ramsgate and back, then sat on the lovely crowded beach for a few hours.....finishing off with a nice meal and a slow walk back to the station and back indoors 2hrs later....perfect day.......as I said sorry to hear how your weekend finished, especially for the coach driver.

Sad end to the weekend but we all have to checkout eventually and in your sleep after a few drinks and dance is one of the better ones.
Personally hoping mine is by fire..... laughing myself to death watching Sid James Park burns to the ground.
Always imagined Sensible as more of an Uncle Albert type rather than a swashbuckling hero like Captain Pugwash.

You've both got it wrong. Hornblower type is more of an apt description crossed with Captain Jack Sparrow.

All you need now sensible is to borrow Beau for a complete makeover.....of course Mrs LaLa might have other ideas.
