22 year old defender with 10 starts to his name. Irrelavent though, because he is easily the best choice for the role and I predict he will be 10x the club captain Colo ever was!

He just needs to hold a team party now

Great news, finally a vocal leader who actually gives a ****, doesn't matter that he's young, he's clearly the best candidate. Really feels like we're in the Rafa era now and we're moving on from the dark days.

Think it was Rafa who first made Steven Gerrard captain at Liverpool when he was 22, so I'd say he knows a young leader when he sees one.

Easily the best choice for captain. Would have preferred a more experience person but whatever. If he's respected by the lads and is vocal and knows what he's doing then I don't care.

Totally deserves it. Tried his best at the end of last season to whip the spineless ****s into shape. One of the few players in our team with a lot of heart. Good luck to the lad.

Probably the right choice on merit. Hopefully those performances at the back end are now the norm.

Lad has shown a lot of passion in his relatively short time with us and I look forward to him getting that into his fellow team members. Don't think he'll stand any sh.t from anyone.
