We all know Bi elections favour the opposition of the day, I’m not getting excited, far too long in the tooth for that, not until the fat lady sings, but I wasn’t expecting the Labour Party to win these two seats, just pointing out the possibility. Dr Death really doesn’t help the Tory’s cause though. He can hardly be the ‘Change’ candidate he claims to be when he’s been a major player in the Government over the last few years and most people understand that imo

I must admit the Bedford one was a bit of a "shock" [ hold with about 2-3000 maj ] although expected Tamworth to go over 500 - 1000 maj
Turnout to Bedford was about the figure I jotted down before it but also had Tamworth at about 36 /37%.

The reality is at the moment "who to vote for" Labour has these elaborate "sugar tooth ideas" which revolve around doing something to get the dosh to promise "the promised land of milk and honey"
Reading financial reports / fiscal histories etc using something like the DOM money just doesnt happen. The pot they state and have drastically reduced to closer to its reality is not a guarantee of the money being available .... these people are not daft, yes they might pay a small more than before % but what Labour wish to do is based on figures for 10 years!!!!!!! How does that work?

1 .. need to to get overall majority no need for other parties [ at least say 10?]
2 ... they would at the time 2024/2025 be taking over another stable ship! but they always [ except when there is a massive bounty of oil money falling int0 their lap ] start to borrow and spend what they havent so dont get re elected
3 .. follows 2 ... the income expected in early years, first full fiscal year falls short and "10 year plan committed" so need to borrow [ they already sold our assets last time ]
4 .. are biggest party but need coalition............
5 .... new GE within 2 years as debt and ideas didnt work or will cause massive debt after term ........
6 ,,, most unlikely but it goes to plan for first term ............ then?????

Given the amount of anti Israeli feeling on the far left, anti Semitism is still alive and well in Labour ranks

God help us all if Labour win the GE is all I can say

I just can't imagine Starmer as PM, he is such a spineless drip, the current government are totally useless, Ed Davey is the leader of the Liberal circus of aimless remainers, I really have lost the will to vote for any of them, I have never felt like this in my life.

Long way to go yet, many a slip between cup and lip, and all that. Lots of potential slip ups , but if GE held tomorrow I think Labour would win a fairly healthy majority. What happens in Scotland will have a big affect as well, if they can win back a healthy number from SNP that’ll make things a whole lot easier . I’ve had to put up with this lot for years, only fair you guys have a similar amount of time of Labour.

When the result of the GE surely comes, it won’t be a ringing endorsement of Starmer, the skanky Rayner or the crazy’s like Lammy and Huq, or the Labour Party itself
It will be an anti Tory vote
I honestly don’t think that a lot of people like or trust Starmer but I can’t blame people for voting against the Tories either

I’d just say be careful what you wish for

If they win I’m not sure they’ll care. Any GE win which votes out a government is a vote against that government, that’s always the case. If a government is popular the opposition doesn’t really stand a chance. It’s the way our system works.

Tories are history under the wef puppet.
    Labour will be even worse.
The country is a dumping ground for illegals .
The only alternative is reform and that is where my vote goes

I’m certain many are definitely regretting their vote choice last time. This lot have been the biggest shambles I can remember in my lifetime.

wait to the labour mob get in -the country is doomed under the two parties.
    Scarey times ahead.
Glad I’m at the other end of the lifespan -our children and their children are going to see a very different country going forward.

Honestly this last lot have been a disgrace, I’m left of centre, but on the whole I’ve nothing against mainstream tories , but this last Tory government really have been beyond the pale, they need a spell out of power to regroup and allow decent right wing politicians to emerge. Johnson was untrustworthy and a liar, Truss incompetent, and Sunak is so bad he even came second to Truss. Imagine the furore on here if a Labour leader or PM had been as bad as these. Anyone would be better than the present Tory party.

I’m delighted we are soon going to get the opportunity to kick this present lot out. I’ve never been so depressed about a government than I’ve been the last few years with this lot. I know im pretty much on my own on here, but I’m looking forward to Labour having an opportunity to change our priorities. I do realise though there is a long way to go and despite what Realred says I’m not counting my chickens just yet.

I was chatting about elections and independance whilst staying in the nice warm hut being bombarded by horizontal hail .. and 5" rain in 2 weeks!

it revolved around the comment " wont make much difference who I vote for or even if I vote at all! " ................. I said at the mo I dont have a clue who to vote for , or might not even bother!!! .. and I dont.. however it only means another 1,000,000 like me throughout the country wouldnt make any difference at all, as it only equals around 1500 per constituency [ if it was close say "win by less than 2000 votes it might ]

1000 vote so 500 for A 500 for B a draw! but if 1 of those changes sides 499 v 501 gain is 2! if one of the 501 votes another party gain is still 1 ![ you you play around with a lot of figures and combinations and some interesting consequences]
