I think O'Shea's a good captain, shouting , pointing etc.

I do agree on Bardo, I think he'd be a good full time captain as well.

Dylan, not arguing just like an explanation as to how O'shea hasn't got it.

He's got experience, holds the defence together well, shouts out instructions etc
What does he have to do to make a good captain? Yes I think Bardo would be a good captain but imo O'shea is better than catts at the job.

I actually think when Catt isn't busy getting himself sent off he's a decent captain, leads by example, gives 100% encourages them an gees them up.

I agree mate, but O'Shea & Bardo are both smashing options.

It's good to have a few players you could see as leaders.

Was a thing on Saturday, when Bardo kissed the badge, it looked right.

99.9% of the time, it is just bullshit.

I have been a massive Bardo fan since the summer he spent boxing to win a contract, everything about him says the right thing. Having said that I cant se what O'Shea has done wrong.

    That's fair.

He's the closest thing we've ever had to another Bally.

Fair enough Dylan, and regarding the bally thing like a few others on here probably my favourite SAFC player. Gary Rowell qualifies as my joint 1st as well for obvious reasons.

Cattermole has been captain of all 4 professional teams he has played for - Boro, Wigan, Sunderland and England u-21s, think he was captain at U-17s as well. First match 17, MOM in a Tyne-Tees Derby. Was a pivotal player as Boro went all the way to a European final before he could legally buy a drink. He is still only 23. Although he is clearly daft at times, all managers of his have paid respect to his ability to inspire and motivate the players around him both on and off the pitch. It is generally in the big games when he is at his best. As he matures as a footballer, and as a man, I think we have a guy who will be a defining player in his generation. I have the confidence he will lift plenty of silver in his lifetime. He's 8-1 to start doing that at Wembley this may. I quite fancy those odds. Barry, Parker, Carrick all aging, wonder what odds he will be first 11 for England by the next world cup, could even be captain?

Bardsley - 3rd captain in my book, rate him, RB sorted for me, though shop Angeleri and get in that young lad Clyne to keep it competitive and interesting.
    O'Shea - vice-captain for me.
    Rico - 4th for what it's worth
