Well, yes but... hopefully Jol will pick a relatively strong side, take the competition seriously and see if we can win the thing.

I'd be quite happy for one or two youngsters to get game time, but I'd rather not field a line up that is essentially a reserve team. One of the things that I thought Mark Hughes got right was picking full strength teams for cup games. Games like 6-0 against Port Vale and 5-2 against Peterborough live long in the memory, and cup finals live even longer. I think the youngsters get more benefit if they have more of the established pros alongside them too.

I kinda agree with both. I'd like to see game time for Kaca/Frei/Mesca and Trotta, but as part of a strong team. Winning the Capital One Cup would be a memory I'd never forget, regardless of the stupid name, and for clubs our size there is no reason not to try. If anything as the league cup is in the earlier part of the season, when everyone is fresher, it makes more sense to target that over the FA cup.

Wouldn't that be delightful, our first ever major trophy to have a name like that! Of course like everyone else I'd be absolutely delighted if we were to have a good run in the competition. Sheffield Wed away is a tough draw though, midweek and long journey in all honesty I think we'll need close to our strongest side out to ensure they don't cause an upset.

Could have been the Freight Rover Trophy! Anyhow, I agree that Wednesday could be a tough visit and we should not put out a weak team.

Ah, if we win it it'll be the League Cup. If we get knocked out we can console ourselves with the Micky Mouse name and say it wasn't such a big deal.
