With Pompey entertaining Derby tomorrow night we can all relax and watch the majority of the First Round unfold as neutrals this evening. There could be a few upsets on the cards as weakened teams take to the field. Potential 'Cupsets' Hull have a potential banana skin awaiting them at Accrington. Birmingham have an interesting tie away to Bristol Rovers. Reading won't relish their trip to Colchester. Bristol City have a tough looking tie at Luton Sheffield Utd got thumped at the weekend and now have to travel to Morecambe Burnley have a tricky match at Port Vale. Brighton travel along the coast to Southend. QPR go to notorious giant killers Yeovil.
Seven Championship sides were knocked out on Tuesday by clubs from League One and Two. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33873622 Let's see if Pompey can add to that number tonight
Portsmouth 01 Paul Jones 02 Ben Davies 04 Adam Webster 20 Matt Clarke 38 Brandon Haunstrup 29 Danny Hollands 33 Ben Close 26 Gareth Evans 07 Adam McGurk 23 Kyle Bennett 17 Jayden Stockley Substitutes 03 Enda Stevens 06 Christian Burgess 09 Matty Tubbs 18 Ben Tollitt 19 Conor Chaplin 24 Brian Murphy 25 Nigel Atangana
Adam McGurk replaced by Enda Stevens in the 55th. minute - apparently took a knock in the first half.
Pompey bring on Conor Chaplin for Brandon Haunstrup. Derby bring on ex Pompey loan player George Thorne for Isak Ssewankambo.
If we do meet you, can we stage the match at Fratton Park - we've modernised the toilets now , all mod cons
How do you see your season going guys, optimistic? Top 10 seems reasonable, or would that be disappointing?
Like the way you didn't include Argyle in your cup upset list DevonFRATTONiser. Bleddy tosser. You'll pay for that on Saturday now and guess who will score the hattrick. Rueben Reid that's who and he will never sign for you lot. And you'll be knackered. (we fecked our game but well done to you people's)
Our style of play under Paul Cook is a revelation this season (so far), so at a minimum the play-offs, but hoping for better than that. We have a number of good young kids coming through, and the manager appears to have made some good signings. Fingers crossed, but an optimistic feeling about the season ahead.
