Was just thinking. Can't imagine he would, not after the Spurs owners have stood by him during the trial. More likely join at the end of the season? Or even do both as he's phased into the job? :/
Redknapp would flog his own granny - so yes Strange one though, it'll be interesting to see what happens.
Nope. Can I refer you to my Rafa Scenario (from earlier in the day), as a potential holding exercise until the end of the Euros....? GKRK
That's what I thought might happen. I wouldn't mind Pearce too much, at least he would play some of the younger players.
He wouldn't play the youngsters as he has already stated that the U21s should not be robbed of their best players.
very interesting turn of events. The cynic inside me feels that Capello was looking for an excuse to get out of the England job, and in John Terry he found it. as others have said though, fair play to him for standing up to the FA
Really? right before the Euro finals? Why would he do that? Why leave on such a sour note unless he truly felt he had been vindicated?
Why? I can't answer - I'm not saying that it's the most plausible motive. What I will say though is: why would he react so strongly to Terry being dropped when, in the past, he has often said that captaincy doesn't really matter - only England really places such a huge emphasis on captaincy. and while I commend him for showing some backbone and standing up to the FA, it's not exactly the cleverest thing to do if you want to stay in a job, and Capello is not stupid.
Meh it's not really that I think, it's more that he was undermined completely, it was his decision to make really. Imagine our owners taking the captaincy off Gerrard without consulting Kenny or his approval, it would be unthinkable.
The Spuds are all suicidal now after Capello's resignation after celebrating the not guilty verdict earlier, they're now reminding 'Arry of the loyalty shown to him by Spurs and their supporters. Problem is for them 'Arry aint a loyal kind of person and hes already said hed give up league management for the England job. It would have been better for them if he'd been found guilty.
Was it more a 'mutual agreement to leave' a la Benitez leaving Liverpool - both save face that way. Is that the best Terry's ever played for England - getting the manager to leave!
