I wouldn't, but I understand why people would, end of the he jumped ship months before we went down to sit on the bench at City. I let that slide simply because of the 10+ years before that, but many wouldn't.

I wouldn't but I can understand it 100%. He left of his own will in the middle of a season where it seemed we would get relegated. Basically he abandoned ship before saying what a mess we were

Nah still cant agree really, I think he'd been one of the very best premier league goal keepers and had reached a point in his career where he had the opportunity to go to city and win things. H probably wouldn't have left if he knew he was going to sit on the bench to be fair and at the same time probably had in the back of his mind that he wasnt exactly screwing us over knowing that harper could get a game after being givens no.2for so long.

Might have been doing harper a favour !

If you think that then you probably believe major companies donate to charity (whilst making sure their name is on the donation) simply because they're altruistic! He left for himself, no doubt about that. It's just whether you forgive him for it or you don't

Can't beleive people are bitter that he left. It happens. He gave us years of quality service and I knew he was off about 30 minutes into the 1-5 loss against Liverpool, he just lookwed fed up. Personall I think he left for a number of reasons; money, trophies and he was fed up with playing behind our consistently **** defence. Also I think he thought he was gonna be a first teamer, as he was one of the best keepers in the league at the time. Anyway, if he didn't care about playing and just wanted money he would've just let his big money contract run down at City (Alan Smith style).

I still class him as a legend.

I remember during that game he took a goal kick and shouted "we're ****" that's when I knew he was gone. However, I do think some of the defence being **** was to do with him.

Actually agree with the last part a little here. He's a legend at the club and a fantastic shot stopper, but I do think he still lacks a presence and a command over the defence. It never seemed organised when he was in goal, and even at City they shipped more goals when he was in the team, with a similar defence to the one that plays in front of Hart now. As I say, great shot stopper, but I do think he lacks organisational abilities which are key for a keeper, after all they can see everything in front of them.
