Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation that defender Mats Hummels could join Manchester United this summer. The Red Devils had been linked with a £16 million move for the Germany international, with Louis van Gaal keen to rebuild a central defence that lost Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in the off-season. But Klopp has laughed off suggestions that he could lose the World Cup winner, as well as attacker Marco Reus, and is confident the duo will remain at Signal Iduna Park. "I can assure you that there are no signs that one of them wants to leave us," the BVB boss told Ruhr Nachrichten. "Mats joining Manchester United? For €20 million (£16m)? For such little money you can forget that immediately!"
Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp continues to be baffled by reports linking Mats Hummels with Manchester United. Despite calling the rumour that Hummels was on the brink of a €20m (£16m) move to Manchester United 'garbage' the German international defender continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford. Now he has used even spicier language to dismiss the rumour say: "If that's not a bulls**t story, I'll eat a broomstick."
The deal will be Kagawa plus cash. He's rarely been better than ****e for United and is completely surplus to requirements.
And you think the person who sold you Kagawa and bought Reus for less, who built one of the best teams in Europe while turning a profit, is going to sell you the best centre back in the world? Hummels is Dortmund, there is no release clause, offer would have to be 50m+ to maybe put it out of Klopps hands, and even then, you have 0% chance Hummels would go to Man Utd right now.
Does he? I think he sounds a little snarky, but is talking sense. You, on the other hand, sound like a man with a paper anus
If Luiz cost 40-50 million, what would world cup winner Hummels be worth? 16 million, are you having a giraffe!?!?
As with all Dortmund players. if a club wants them, they get them. Clubs like Dortmund dont say know. They cant. at best he will stay 1 more year.
True and that's the case with 99% of teams. Point being, you'd need to spend a hell of a lot more than the reported 16 million to get him. Stick 40-50 on the table like PSG did with Luiz and yes they probably will sell....but you won't.
Let's just see shall we? I seem to recall us being bombarded with Saints fans telling us we'd never sign Shaw for less than £40 million and that they didn't need to sell and, well, look what happened there. Time will tell, Vermaelen as fall back if we fail.
Well United will pay the player a heck of a lot more than Dortmund will. But if he is under contract, there is no way Dortmund will sell for £16m surely. There is relenting to bigger club pressure (like Spurs and Pool did with Madrid) and there is just bending over and letting yourself be arse raped!
