The only reason i can think that PJ would be given more time is if Clegg is on his way out, but after the sucking up Clegg did to ME in his notes on saturday i can't see it happening.

Maybe it's a case of ME would like someone already lined up to take over the role as and when he does show PJ the door, I'd hate for us to sack PJ only to have Hutchings in charge for the next few games while we interview candidates etc.

No excuses he should have ****ed off with his P45 first thing this morning! Klug can take over first team affairs for the time being. And there is not a ****ing dicky bird from either Evans or Clegg - This football club is an absolute ****ing joke and if no action is taken we bloody deserve relegation!

i think if you lose to barnsley next week he'll be gone.

ironic that he could lose his job at oakwell having saved his job there last year. having said that, he could surprise you all and save his job at barnsley AGAIN!

can't blame the guy for hanging around - he'll get a pay off and i wouldn't be surprised if this is his last managerial job cos i can't see anyone else taking a punt on him again.

I expected to see one of the following two when I opened up TWTD today:

    Jewell leaves Town

    Evans backs Jewell

Both I would respect, but neither just heaps pressure on his shoulders and makes it impossible for him to turn it around, surely if he's not gone the basis of that is you believe he is still the man to take us forward...

This thing of having to lose x amount of games to get fired is nonsense. And if we win on Saturday that means he is a good manager again? Where does judgement come into it?

    I agree Yorkie!

I listened to Rosenior saying on the League Show that jewell should be given more time as the season is only 6 games old! He obviously hasn't got a ****ing clue what he's talking about or he chooses to forget Jewell's dismal record over the past 18 Months!

I get the feeling ME may have already made his decision and is lining someone else up!! That's what he's done on both of the 2 previous occassions I believe!! I hope he goes for someone who is in a job rather than someone out of work tbh, there aren't many managers out of work I would like to see at the club tbh!!!

    Bloody hell, so do I!!!

Was only thinking earlier, i hope we don't go for someone who has been out of the game for a while like Hoddle or Keegan. We need someone who is up to speed on current players and teams that are around etc, not living in the past!!

My only disagreement is that I would welcome Mick McCarthy as the next manager!

I would really like us to be bold and go for someone like Paul Tisdale!!!! We need to make a long term appointment, not a stop gap or someone who would come in looking for instant success!!

    Don't make me laugh!

What we need is a proven and experienced manager in this league not a rookie! This club is in a huge mess and we need a strong personality to come in and bang some heads together.

This isn't a popular suggestion but the person I would like to come here would be Mick McCarthy. He is available, he hasn't been out of football for eons and he will build a solid side that will get us out of trouble and will push onto promotion. This isn't an unrealistic target like 'Arry! What we need is pragmatism!

So you think Paul Tisdale taking over as our manager is would be a laughable appointment, you would be completely opposed to it???

I see your point about needing experience, it's worrying the rut we find ourself in. The biggest concern I have is the lack of resiliance our players seem to have. I'm sure if we appoint McCarthy he would get us out of this situation and probably have some success but where would we be a couple of years down the line?? A team with alot of average workman like players playing average football. I wouldn't be overly dissapointed if we appointed him (we could do alot lot worse) but he's not my cup of tea and I really don't think he would suit the club. He's a proper old fashioned yorkshire bloke, no nonsense (seems a bit of a simpleton to me) and seems to say nothing positive. I'm not really sure his appointment would unite the fans and certainly wouldn't reaffirm the direction which the club are currently heading (i.e young, hungry players and under strict financial rules).

Paul Tisdale in my eyes would unite the fans, I think they'd be willing to give him a chance and patience. We've got good enough players to get out of this situation (need a leader at the back maybe Higginbotham??) but I think this would also show the club have a long term plan and I think he would tick the boxes on a few fronts, plays good football, is on the up as a manager, is young yet has a fair bit of experience in the lower leagues, would be used to a smaller budget, would know the lower leagues. But unfortunately I really don't see the club appointing someone like that!!
