We have been well used to winning games this last ten years, and of course relative success. We are however, about to move into new territory and the question has to be arkssed: Are you prepared for a thrashing next season? I am talking a six, seven, even eight goal tanking, it's likely to happen, but in isolation and need not do a lot of damage. As most have anticipated it is about staying in the middle of the table, nicking wins as they become possible. We will be unknown and a number of clubs will take us for granted and will come unstuck. Any draw against the top clubs will be a bonus. We must challenge the likes of West Brom, West Ham, Newcastle, Hull, Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea and the like for the spoils. Are you prepared for this?
I can't wait We've got to think of this season as one big long party! If we stay up great if we don't then we've been there done it and can hopefully do it again. Don't get me wrong i would love us to stay up and will be backing the team to do it, but we've got to be prepared this season to loose and get a few hammerings on the way.
I think the inevitable canings will come, but I am looking forward to the journey into the unknown. Cant wait.
A caning is inevitable in a teams' first Prem season. It happens to them all. Ours was a 5-1 loss to Wigan at the KC. They were managed by Steve Bruce at the time as well...
no doubt the older generation on here would in fact love a good caning......i just caught the tail end (excuse the pun)....luckily for me whatever happens lets just hope you do your best in the stands and back the lads in voice...........coz what happens on thee pitch is out of our hands
We started looking the business these last 4 games. Bellamy thrives at the top level and Kim is going to cause a lot of problems for any team. We will get more space in the prem, that will suit us. The point of playing top clubs is actually to win not get caned, we could not have dreamed how well this team would do this season so we do not really know how they will do till the games begin. I am not expecting us to lose by a large margin just because other teams have, we do need Barnett he is the one player who does not want to pass along the back four. I am also assuming we will have a goalkeeper capable of making first class saves. For six seasons we have got used to being in the top six so have the players. I am expecting us to do well after all we dont have to finish in the top two anymore. We can settle for a top four finish. jck
^^^ It may seem negative but it is not......I think Blackpool had the same attitude. not a bad one to start off but I also feel that we shall survive unlike Blackpool. Good heads at management level who will keep us going, I reckon. It's not about beating MU MCFC CFC etc. but getting wins where we are able (and there are lots of opportunities for that) and nicking points too.
Nice effort to pull the Preston debacle out of the hat. Who knows perhaps we will be dishing out the corporal punishment and not receiving it. Have to go, got to treat the leather on my Gimp mask and check the chains aren't going rusty.
What I am saying is we never expected the team to do what they did this season we underestimated them We have seen what happened to other promoted teams but even before we kick a ball we really dont know how our team will do. We may be harder to beat than the other teams think. jck
