This year was the toughest it´s been To find only three to be seen, I could´ve found a lot Worthy of a spot But restrictions just happen to mean... ..that ChrisAcle08 and dave And jarold who his all, he gave, Despite being close Just missed by a nose To these three, who rode on a wave In third place, and in from Bahrain Came chinacanary´s wee rhyme, It describes so well The Chris Hughton spell Which like his verse, is working fine In second place, a Kentish man Whose words are so true of our clan, No big egos here Nor likely to appear When the window opens here in Jan But first, was in no doubt, in truth The winner´s the man from Redruth, It´s the second he´s won So from me, well done! It´s good when age wins over youth. and here they are, the three I´ll be sending off, in their full glory 1) redruthyella: There was a young man from E.7 Was a full back in the old Spurs eleven, His skills as a coach So far beyond reproach Orchestrates the Canaries like Previn. 2) Kent canary: In these days of footballers´vanity Where money inflates their insanity, The Norwich squad Are not that odd They´re just like the rest of humanity. 3) chinacanary: Chris Hughton came East from the Blues To give us a light of the fuse, At first it burned slow But now here we go Canaries, who win more than lose. Once I get confirmation back from the club, I´ll let you know which match day programme they will find themselves in. Thanks to everyone who took part, just sorry there aren´t more than three spots up for grabs. rbf
Indeed sir, thank you for ALL your tireless efforts, let it be known, without your contributions, this forum would be a much poorer place! Congratulations to the three that have been chosen! Well done!
Excellent rbf great fun trying this thanks for your time! Great stuff Redruth well deserved winner Hope Rex has not eaten your turkey rbf
Must be a refreshing change to see us all tearing our hair out in the pursuit of a poetic masterpiece when you wheel them out time and again as if it were on tap RBF. Great competition and no arguments about the results. Well done to the winners and in particular Redruth.
Must admit Chris, I do enjoy reading them as they come in every year, and you know what, you´re all getting better at them, which I suppose just proves that practice does eventually make perfect.
It took me ages and ages to finish off this years effort and then I was on Youtube and Previn's music came up and that was it. Most of you will not know that I contacted the club asking them for help in publishing the amazing catalogue of work the RBF has compiled about his love for, well obviously like in general, but certainly NCFC. I contacted Nick Ferrara and was disappointed that I didn't even get the courtesy of a reply. I would have thought a body of work the RBF has has at his disposal ought to be commemorated by the club. I do know that the club doesn't open every piece of mail or read every email because of the sheer volume, but just maybe if we all dropped them a line, eg 100,000 signatures and the Government has to act, then maybe the club could stump up a few bob and get some of it into print. RBF is like a listed building or World Heritage site so we ought to act on it. A blue plaque is the minimum!
