As with all good awards we´ll begin With third, which went, just by the skin, Of his teeth, to Hucks Not worth any bucks I´m afraid, but not far off a win In second spot, robbieBB Whose limerick, I´m sure you´ll agree, Showed just more than most Why Lambert´s a toast And his players too, quite definitely But the winner was, with no debate In my view, ChrisAcle08, Whose words did appeal To how we all feel Right now, summing it up first-rate. So here they are, the three that I´ll be sending off, but as always, it was very difficult to cut it down just to three. I also took into consideration those on the Preview thread, so everyone had a chance. 1. ChrisAcle08: Our football is a breath of fresh air There is talent in abundance and flair, It´s the sum of our parts That´s warming our hearts, Making others stop, take notice, and stare. 2. robbieBB: With money so tight few´d have thought That the players our manager bought Would prove themselves able To keep us mid-table Thank you lads for the good times you´ve brought 3. Hucks for Manager!: It was a dull game, truth be told, We were struggling to break the mould, But Jackson´s header was loaded, Fratton Park exploded, And on promotion we had a hold But Maestro, I´ll be sending off your daughter´s effort as well, whether the club decide to find room for it or not, is up to them, but I thought she deserved a mention. I´ll explain that she´s a Junior Canary and how old she is, and I´ll let you all know, as soon as I know, whether it´s the Burnley or the Chelsea programme they´ll be put into. I´ll see if I can´t persuade the club to run it for a fourth year, again next Christmas. rbf
Well done to ALL who took part, and a very big thank you RBF, for your time and effort that you put, not just into this but in all your prediction competitions, and all your poetic posts, keeping us all entertained!
Thanks fellas, but really I didn´t do an awful lot, all the hard work was done by the rest of you, for which I am truly grateful. I enjoyed reading them (several times as it happens), as always.
Thanks RBF - I'm dead chuffed that you chose my verse out of all the splendid efforts on display. Even brought a smile to the missus' face, who is still very poorly. Thanks again
RBF it's a pleasure to say (In what's YOUR own inimitable way) Thanks for the fun And to Chris who has won My congrats -- and 3 points on the day! robbie
Nice one RBF. I particularly liked RR reference to Knute; he couldn't reverse the tide but our club certainly has under PL's leadership.
Well done rbf, and thank you for choosing mine! I look forward to seeing it and the others in the Burnley programme.
