------------------------- Hey Sports Fans! Tonight see's Canaries face off against new-found-rivals Villains in the League-Challenge-Superbowl QF. Canaries are headed into this matchup undefeated in ten EPL matchups, and will hope to carry that momentum through to this fixture in order to overcome the tactics of their former Coach. Coach Hughton: âIt was wonderful for us to score four goals away from home (at Swansea), to do that in this division is a real feat. Perhaps it puts more pressure on players to produce as well â and that is not just strikers, the lads in the wide positions or even central defenders â whatever contribution we can do to spread goals around the team I am glad we are doing that..â Key to Canaries recent run of good form has been a relatively solid de-fence, although this was unpicked with ease by a rampant Swans off-fense on Saturday - hopefully Villains will be less effective tonight. G. Holt is likely to start whilst W. Hoolahan and S. Whittaker are doubts with the med-team. please log in to view this image Villains currently sit P16 in the EPL divisional standings, two places and two points above the rejection zone. A poor series so far has seen them struggle to amass ballgame points, however in recent weeks C. Benteke has started providing the goods in the opposition endzone and it seems to be only a matter of time before they can begin climbing the table. Coach Lambert: "The sensible ones would maybe think 'you've done all right', but I know you might get stick. I really don't know what to expect but it's not something I'm actually too fazed about. it a source of sorrow it's ended up how it has? Yes, it should never have been the way it is. Would you hope it could get sorted amicably? You'd like to think that way" This will be the first time that Coach Lambert has returned to the DeliaDome following his acrimonious departure in the close season. Since then Canaries have progressed with aplomb playing confident soccer which has seen them defeat Gunners and Red Devils. This matchup should provide the kinds of thrills and spills you're used to seeing only in NASCAR⢠- so strap yourselves in and get ready for one-heck-of-a-matchup! CS - Really disappointed after my superb match day thread on the Swans board but if you must insist on all style, no substance then so be it
Honestly, it took me perhaps 30 minutes to do the write up as I didn't need to do a huge amount of research and the table for the last 6 games took about another 5 minutes once I created the template for it. I am guessing that was less time that you take for your fine efforts?
Haha did it really take you only 30 minutes? Very impressive. These take me about 20 minutes, but 5 minutes of that involves eating beef jerkey and shooting a revolver into the sky to get myself into the right frame-of-mind.
Honestly took no time at all. I am normally well up to date with all things Norwich so that bit is dead easy, and I got the Swans info from a couple of their guys and just took edited highlights of what they said Then again I do write a lot of articles on many topics for other people so used to cranking out loads of material quite quickly, just much easier when it's something you know and care about
Some stats going into this: In the league, Villa have scored the fewest goals per game (0.8) with Norwich one of a cluster of clubs just above this (0.9), so I suppose that points to a low scoring game?
Bunn, Martin, Barnett, Bassong, Tierney, Snodgrass, Howson, Johnson, Pilkington, Holt, Morison. Subs: Rudd, Turner, Jackson, Fox, Elliott Bennett, Garrido, Francomb. Bent and Benteke up front together for Villa, guessing they're 4-4-2 as well. No Agbonlahor or Vlaar though. Given, Clark, Herd, Baker, Lowton, El Ahmadi, Delph, Holman, Lichaj, Benteke, Bent. Subs: Guzan, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Albrighton, Bannan, Weimann, Williams
Hopefully Barney and Bassong's understanding from earlier in the season is still intact. If Villa, with 2 strikers and up against a defence including 3 second string players, can't score though, they've got serious issues.
Hard to make case Rusty or Bassong are second string, and Tierney and Barnett are both sub-bench or around there so it's not really a second string defence at all.
That's a strong line up for us Two strikers up front for both, could be goals How come francomb is on the bench, is he back from Wimbledon?
