------------------------- Happy Holiday's Sports Fans! Boxing day see's Canaries take on Coach Benitez's London Blues in a Festive Frenzy of Soccer. Last time out in the EPL Canaries undefeated run of 10-ballgames came to an end at Estadio Del Hawthiño versus Baggies. Canaries took the lead at the start of the second quarter with an R. Snodgrass FK, however Baggies relentless pressure meant that at the end of overtime the scoreline was Two versus One. Coach Hughton: â It was always going to be tough, with the form they have showed. I thought we gave a good account of ourselves, their opportunities were limited but I'm very disappointed with the goal we conceded at a bad time before half time. There was a challenge on Mark Bunn, but I'll have to have another look at that one. We should have reacted a little bit better once it came off the crossbar, it was a poor goal for us to concede, particularly at that time. On the balance of play I thought we played some good football but without creating the chances we would have liked. " Canaries will be headed in to this matchup without number-one S-A-P J. Ruddy and with number-nine S-A-C G. Holt looking doubtful - a monumental blow for Norfolk State. S. Morison was charged with the lone-offense role in the matchup versus Baggies but he seemed tired and at times disinterested; Franchise Fans know that S. Morison has plenty of skills in his locker, but whether or not Coach Hughton can make the most of them remains to be seen. please log in to view this image Blues currently sit P3 in the EPL divisional standings following an Eight-Versus-Nothing victory against Coach Lolmbert's Villains side. In that ballgame there were seven different score-attempt-converters, with Ramierez convert two score-attempts. Coach Benitez has come in for much criticism since he replaced Coach Di-Matteo earlier in the Series, however with a dominant victory over the in-form Villains franchise that criticism has started to dry-up. Coach Benitez: ""You can see the team improving. With this type of performance, we will try to be as close as possible [to the title]. To win is always special but the main thing is to see the team progressing and improving. Every training session we adjust little things and you can see the team growing. The players were really focused from day one. They have been trying to learn and improve. I think you can see the team is really concentrated, with belief and confidence in themselves" After converting those Eight Score attempts against a Villains Franchise who defeated Canaries comfortably in the QF of the Capital One Soccer Series, Blues will most certainly be favourites in this ballgame. However write Canaries off at your own peril - Canaries have defeated both Red Devils and Gunners @ The DeliaDome so far this series and will have no fear facing-off against the rampant London Blues. This sure is going to be a great Soccer matchup, so fill up your Coca-Cola⢠tankards, get your hot-dogs and grab a seat for this smash-and-grab matchup, brought to you exclusively on Not606! Well done PC, I love these match-day match-ups! I really wish you would reconsider remaining at the helm!
Well, first half they shaded it and it was a brilliant goal by Mata. But we played well and we look a serious team whatever the final score is today.
Is it me or is Garrido the player that is likely to panic the most out of our players, His no need to pass ball gave them possession for the goal and on two other occasions he played balls that smacked of desperation. I expected him to be the cool one considering his european background. We have to expect to be pinned back, we are likely to get one maybe two clear cut chances. Let us just hope when they come that the lads are on their toes. With two more tough games before the cup break, the results are to a certain extent less important than how we play. Even if we end up pointless from these games if we can look reasonably assured and hopefully injury free, then I think we have a good chance for a worry free season remainder.
Oh well, no disgrace although I never got even a little excited during the game. I never felt we were going to score but at the same time we kept Chelsea contained pretty well for the most part, they are still a damned good team.
though Bassong was going to steal a point for us but never mind, to keep a team who have been scoring for fun recently largely contained like we did bodes very well. lets do a Manchester double.
In the end we got the same number of points against them that Villa did. Cruel, but that's the reality. I thought our organisation was terrific and with just a bit of luck we could have come away with a point. If we play like that for the rest of the season, we're fine.
One thing that was particularly well highlighted today was the lack of cutting edge in the final third, not that we made it that far too often today. A really well organised midfield and defensive unit will snuff us out 9 times out of 10 and Chelsea did that brilliantly today. Thankfully not too many teams can do that so we normally have a chance in the majority of games.
True but the hit to Villa's goal difference made them equal worst in the league thats like losing another point really. Plus we won't have such a hit to our confidence.
Damage limitation, still 10 points clear of the drop and it appears no injuries. Chelsea never had to break sweat and we coped well with their threat. Tidy but not exciting. Mankini appear to be less of a threat than first imagined so some renewed hope for Saturday.
Well we didn't disgrace ourselves Sunderland prove that city are beatable but we may get a bit of a backlash Key thing is nobody in the bottom 4 or 5 won
I think we were all hoping for a point today but it was not to be. Probably only two decent chances, when Holty ran offside on the Hoolahan through ball, and Basongs header at the end. Otherwise pretty good defending apart from the last ten minutes when we seemed determined to gift Chelsea the ball trying to play out from the back. Shame Man City got beat today as they will be determined to come back strong against us. Thanks for the thread PC.
