Have just seen via the Skybet Championship twitter account Norwich, Blackburn & a number of other championship sides are interested in signing a forward from Manchester United. Unfortunately it's not Rooney, Wellbeck or R.V.P but a welsh forward called Tom Lawrence who has come up through the ranks at Man U http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-And-Staff/First-Team/Thomas-Lawrence.aspx?pageNo=1
Whilst other sites report he's just signed a new long-term contract with United, so if there's anything in this it's likely to be a loan. A striker who can play centrally or wide apparently, which I guess would fit in with signings like Grabban.
Another striker, feels like last season, everyone crying out for us to sign a CAM and we sign strikers.
I would prefer if we focused on a defender or two as currently we will be playing a 2-5-3 formation or 2-3-5 formation if we keep buying strikers
We could play with six strikers, but until we upgrade the level of service they receive, it will pay no dividends. I'm not sure Wes is up to a whole season of 'rough and tumble' as provided by the Championship. In fact, depending on where his head is these days, I'm not certain he's up for any of it
It's really worrying that Adams hasn't seen service as an issue that needs addressing, surely he must have learnt from CH's season. The mentality seems to be that if we're not scoring goals buy loads of strikers, I really hope the service issue is addressed before the start of the season.
Are going for the seldom attempted 0-0-10 formation. I know they said attacking this year but that really is balls out!!!!
It could be that Adams sees Lawrence as an alternative to Callum Wilson in the dual forward/wide player role. Adams has addressed the defensive needs, though: http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/..._transfer_wish_list_at_norwich_city_1_3689115 As for midfield, I think he may want to see how Wes, Fer and Surman work out before he brings in more midfield players. There's still six weeks left, after all.
I think the current midfield is actually more than good enough to get us out of this division. With Surman coming back, Bennett recovering from injury and possibly Wes coming in from the cold means we have 3 options for the CAM role , plus lots of flexibility in formations and personnel. I would like to see a new CB and a new CM in the mould of Fox/Pirlo (Obviously they are miles apart, just the same style of play) then I think our team would be complete. I really hope R.Bennett gets some play time this season but with Rusty getting the captains armband and now playing as a CB I can see RB being 3rd choice, which is a real shame.
Wouldn't be a bad signing at all - well thought of there and shows plenty of promise - would be a good move for him as he'll struggle to break through now I'd have thought - striker though? Thought he was a playmaker/attacking mid like everyone has been crying out for? Problem here is that if we sign anyone ahead of hoolahoops, he would kick up all sorts of stink to leave again - meaning we'd need to buy two players most likely. A youngun like this would be direction I'd go -
If looking towards United i hope Nick Powell is being discussed, i think he'd be perfect you round out our Midfield. Adams said yesterday that we are looking for defenders I'd guess a replacement for Bassong in particular and maybe a new right back. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/defensive_reinforcements_are_high_on_neil_adams_transfer_wish_list_at_norwich_city_1_3689115
He is a very good player and i was secretly hoping he would come to us, was at yeovil last year and really shone.
he's not really a striker. plays more in the hole. talented kid, could be worth a try. like others, i'd rather have powell if i'm being honest
He has been described more as the second striker playing deeper, but like the use of formations these terms are a bit of a movable feast. Could be a useful signing IMO.
