Can we now put the talk of promotion to bed once and for all, and derail the t**t on foxestalk optomistic but, we have not been good enough all season, we dont deserve to be promoted, were a mediocre championship team, nothing more nothing less. Lets get rid of the c**p and start again next season, its been over for ages, just that the blinkered muppets could not see it, reallity is a wonderful concept, and should be embraced by alot more of our fans, maybe then they would alieviate the disappointment that inevitably follows lcfc
Wasn't sure about SGE, and even less sure about NP to be honest, tactics and formation seem all over the place, we have def not been good enough all season, god knows what the next one will bring, i'm just hoping it wil be better than this one, very very very disappointing to say the least.......
NP strikes me as the sort of manager who can only work with players that fits a narrow profile. That doesn't mean NP won't be successful, it just means that he may need more time than alot of managers to make them successful. At least another season. Are the modern day fans and chairman patient enough for that?
agree happy fox, def not sure if our owners will be that patient, maybe the fans will be more so, mmm who knows???
We started the season with Sven...he had few critics then. All of a sudden by October he's not good enough? I think the point is not so much that Sven is better than Pearson or vise versa, but sacking your manager mid-season never pays off when going for promotion. Didn't help Sheff Wed much did it? Stability is the key, and that's why Reading are going to romp this league. They don't have the best manager, or even the best squad on paper, but a manager that has assembled a team and knew what they can all do. Hopefully this will be us next season, but the sacking of Sven realistically ruined any chances of promotion this season.
i think that pretty much sums it up gangsta, tho we will never know now i guess if SGE would have done any better. While im hoping our owners dont see fit to change the manager yet again, i do feel however, he has to stop relying on the so called old guard, ditch Gallagher, Wellens, Dyer, and co, bring in some fresh new hungry players, and see where it takes us. I for one will not be getting over excited about our expectations next yr, but to be fair i didn't this yr, im def an, expect the worst and anything better is a bonus kind of guy lol, i think it pays dividends in the long suffering life of a lcfc fan
Talking of ins and out for next season, when I thought about it last night, there are probably only FIVE(!) players I wouldn't let go for a decent fee. Marshall, Drinkwater, Morgan, Kasper and Nugent. You can add Peltier, Schlupp and Danns to that list, although I don't want to see them in the first team next season. The rest, for one reason or another, I'd happily lose. We have attitude and discipline problems from Konchesky, Beckford, Mills and St Ledger, Howard is past it, Bamba fails to bring stability at the back, Gallagher and Dyer are usually ineffective, but worst of all, the combination of King and Wellens has totally failed this season. I believe Sven built the team around these two, only to see it collapse from the heart outwards. So I think all those players are replaceable. I'm obviously not saying get rid of the lot, but I wouldn't shed a tear if any of them left. And as for all the deadwood that hasn't got near a squad that is struggling to nail down a top 10 finish - you all need to **** off!!! Oakley! Pantsil! Weale! Moussa! I'm talking to you! Sadly, also Tunch too I'm afraid, and I'm not sure Kennedy will ever make it hear either.
Unlike Sven who couldn't change tactics, making our team so easy to read we got trounced by Millwall at home 3-0.
King has been out of position then injured- expect a better King next season under NP. Danns has played himself into undroppable, and next to DD could get a real energetic partnership.
wizard, as i said, we will never know about sven, all i know is, what ive spent a fortune on, both home and away this season under both of them has just not been good enough, now im hoping NP is given the time to bring in his own team totally, instead of the few he has done, and the rest he inherited, but only our owners know the answer to that one.
