Seriously, what if Fernandes actually stumps up the cash and we land the following: Johnson, Defoe, Samba and Onahua.......Damn!!! Could be a VERY happy new year!! Fingers crossed....
Onuoha won't move from the North-west due to his mother's illness. Defoe is still a very long shot. The other two are good chances.
The players who came to us in Sept did so because there were no better offers.Based on that scenario happening again in Jan, some of the names mentioned on this site seem highly unlikely.
On the positive side though, the players we got were only in the last 13 days (The ones we really wanted i mean). Surely with a lot more time and backing we will be bringing in a few more quality names.....and i really dont see a few mentioned in the press now being totally out of our league.
Agreed but our league position means half decent players wont sign long term contracts which seems to indicate bringing in loan players and we all know that when the chips are down as they will be in the next few months they wont give a toss. Also NW complained when he came to the club that we had 2 many loan players and now he looks like he going to go down the same road.
Any player signing permanently will have a relegation clause in the contract, so there's no guarantee we'll be picking up too many loanees. Also, there's a big difference between taking a loanee in the PL and the lower divisions. Everyone wants to stay in the PL whereas in the lower divisions it's just another payday. Warnock said he's looking for young players with something to prove so I think a mix of these and permanent signings will be just right...
