Well have we seen the best two teams in the Euros. Couldn't believe Spain started with six midfielders,(thought Steve Bruce had gone to Hull) and no strikers.
It was all explained in the second half when Fernando joined the fray and proceeded too miss the best two chances of the match, especially the second one, seemed to sum up the season he has just had.
One wonders what Spain will do in match two by which time lets hope the Irish lead the group by two points, thanks to a winning goal by a certain Mr McLean, bring it on.

Spain have the same problem Barcelona do vs a team with a good defense. Great creativity, but good teams can counter than.

Spain/Barca need to get a good striker in their team and play a bit differently.

I don't see the point in playing 5 attacking/creative mids if you can't put away your chances.

Spain should have started torres, and Barca should buy a new striker.

Thought Italy looked the better team and by far the most dangerous in the tournament so far.

How much time does Balotelli need though? What a chance he had.

But Torres still looks like Bambi in front of goal when he used to be a real predator.

You talk about Bruce playing the old 4-6-0, but didn't O'Neill do the same thing against someone with Sessegnon as the most attacking player on the team? :undecided:

I think Torres deserves some credit for getting into the goal scoring situations, even if he's not yet putting ity away. If he can get a couple of tap ins to lift his confidence I think he's going to do well again.

I think it was Peterborough United in the cup and we won 2-0.

The only thing is, i thought Italy played the best they could and Spain were terrible, still feel Spain will grow in the tourament and win it, I guess it depends on Torres, sooner or later he must click again, his movement is still world class even if the finishing is sunday league lol
