League poistions and points behind the top team. 2005, 2nd, 12 points behind top 2006, 4th, 24 2007, 4th, 21 2008, 3rd, 4 (Livrepool in 4th only 11 point behind top so a really good season) 2009, 4th, 18 2010, 3rd, 11 2011, 4th, 12 2011, ?, >= 19 2008 is a stand oit season - only 11 points between top and 4th (LFC), with ManU scoring an impressive 87 points. That was a quality season where we had all top 4 teams really competive, and I think although it goes down as a season of no trophies it is one that shouldn;'t be lightly dismissed. This season is a bad one. We need to make big signings.
