Well I got my way last week, in that I wanted Coates over Carra. The added bonus was Downing was dropped. Alas, it did nothing for us, and this is the main reason why I'd never ask for a manager to be sacked, since I'd do no better!!

However looking at Tuesday night, is there one missing bit that will get the whole machine working? Or does the whole engine need dropping and replacing? But for this thread, working on one change only, be that mid-field or attack, what would you change?

Me? I'm dropping Charlie "Hollywood" Adam. While Kenny seems biologically unable to do this, sticking by his fellow jock, I think he is the weakest link. I am thinking Gerrard should get the nod in his place.

    -----------Spearing------------
    ---Hendo---Gerrard---Bellamy---
    -------Suarez----Kuyt----------

I wish for Carroll to start and get a hat trick to shut the mocking mouths of the bluenoses I work with <laugh>

Please don't put Henderson out wide right - it doesn't work! Against Everton I would play Carroll.

Can't believe Adam is still getting starts for us, even my bird who isn't in to football has noticed how **** he has been and pointed it out!

Now he has moved to a big club nothing can be kept simple, has to be the spectacular pass or shot and what the **** has happened to his set pieces? STOP taking every one of them when you can't beat the first man over and over.

Just had to let that out - he is by far our weak link and should be a squad player only.

    I'd go with:

    Spearing

    Kuyt Gerrard/Hendo Downing

    Bellamy/Carroll Suarez

I want Downing to play, but I'd also like to see some thing like this.
    --------Kelly--Skrtel--Coates---
    Johnson----------------------Enrique
    ------Spearing---Henderson--------
    --------------Suarez------------------
    --------Carroll-----Bellamy----------

Gerrard could replace Henderson if fit.

This could add our pace and goal threat. The back 3 will allowJohnson and Enrique freedom to cross for Carroll.

  6. Those six yes, in that formation no. I don't want to see Henderson out wide right, switch it to 433 or 4231 and play them like one of these:

    4231:

    Henderson - Spearing
    Kuyt - - - Gerrard - - - Bellamy
    Suarez

(Suarez, Kuyt and Bellamy can interchange leaving Gerrard plenty of options for passes or space to exploit)

    433:

    Henderson - Spearing - Gerrard
    Kuyt - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bellamy
    Suarez

I liked our 5-3-2/5-4-1/3-5-2 last year and thougth we created a lot off of it. Would be something different o try and get us goals, nothing else has worked!

Johnson and Enrique are our best attackers out wide.

Having 2 players ahead of Suarez takes pressure of him.

Carroll can get good knock downs to Ballamy and Suarez.

The extra centre back takes pressure off the defence midfielder, so Gerrard could feel a bit more freedom.

  9. I agree about Johnson and Enrique but they both need to learn to cross, early without beating a man too!
