I understand, as far as the press have gently hinted in their own understated way, that Michael Laudrup might agree with you.

Agree. Would have been preferable if all new players were here by july 1.

I do agree and am feeling a little frustrated by the lack of activity. But if I remember last year all our signings were relatively late (had to get laudrup in first) and look how they turned out!.. So even though I would like to see a bit more happening, it's not like all the good players will be gone when we look to sign, the window is open for another 2 months yet.

There is going to be some lag. Players are on international duty or on vacation. For example, G. Dos Santos the Mexican forward currently with demoted Mallorca is with Mexico in Brazil at the Confederation Cup. He might be an interesting candidate, but any deal is not going to be close to final until he returns from that competition. Likewise anybody from La Liga is probably now on vacation or just getting back from U-21 or if with the seniors still in Brazil.

P.S. would be nice if could could confirm JDG though.

Patience is a virtue,or so I have been led to believe.

No doubt there is a lot of activity taking place, and all will be revealed in the fullness of time.

I am not to bothered about our lack of impact in the market so far, the transfer window isn't even open yet.

The early bird catches the worm and some of the teams were getting their players the minute the season ended...laudrup in fairness to him also was ready to swoop after sounding his targets out and look what happened.....As this is our third season we should be able to up the anti and spend a bit more on getting our targets, If it was our first season like cardiff then yes you cant go overboard and pay silly money as the chances of staying in the premiership are slim, with us we should show some ambition and not let our targets go to other clubs for the price we should be paying now. the very least we should be bidding to force the other clubs to up their bid if they want them and not let them have them without a fight.....

I think the original list was stupid in that it was not kept secret, it's obvious other clubs would look if we publicly announce who we are looking at. And we cannot just blame agents or the other club because many of them were never approached by the Swans yet the info was given to the press anyway. If it was ML then he learnt a lesson the hard way, if it was Tutumulu then I am 100% elated the idiot is effectively banned from the club, if it was the board then they also learnt a lesson.

If it was none of the above then there is a rat in the nest that is getting a few wads of cash from our dear supporting local rag. We have to keep our targets under the duvet and effectively bar the Evening Post from the club because they are doing the setup no favours whatsoever.

Yes especially when Villa and Liverpool seem to be signing some good young players early doors

    Work in progress

HUW Jenkins has revealed bids are on the table for a number of players after Swansea City saw an offer for Michy Batshuayi rejected.
Swansea's top priority this summer is to beef up their forward line, with French international Bafetimbi Gomis one of the names on their wish list.

    Michy Batshuayi
Belgian Under-21 international Batshuayi has emerged as another player Swansea want — but they will have to up their initial bid to get him.
It is understood Standard Liege have turned down an offer of around three million euros — approximately £2.5 million — for the 19-year-old, who scored 12 goals in the Belgian top flight last season to help his club into Europe.
But the suggestion is that Swansea could yet get their man if they are prepared to stump up a little more cash.
Batshuayi is one of a host of players considered by Swansea's decision-makers so far this summer, and they remain interested in Lyon striker Gomis.
Another man Swansea have enquired about is Anderlecht's Dieumerci Mbokani, but the feeling is that he will move to Dynamo Kiev.
"We are working day and night and there is a lot going on behind the scenes," said Swansea chairman Jenkins.
"There are a lot of options and a lot of discussions have taken place.
"We have talked to many clubs, and in some cases we have put certain bids in for certain players.
"But some clubs prefer to wait to see what other offers come in.
"If you get as far as the dealing with the player or the agents, they are happy to sit and wait in some cases too.
"It's not just us finding that, it's the same for a lot of Premier League clubs."
Swansea remain hopeful of clinching what would be a head-turning deal for Gomis.
Lyon are keen to sell and Swansea are prepared to smash their transfer record to get Gomis, but the chances of a deal being struck could come down to whether the player fancies a move to Wales.
Congo international Mbokani is another name on Swansea's list after he suggested earlier in the summer that he wanted to move to the Premier League.
West Brom, Hull and Fulham have also been linked with the 27-year-old, but he seems set to head for Ukraine.
Wigan's Arouna Kone is a player Michael Laudrup admires, but it is understood Swansea feel his wage demands — plus his age and value — mean he is well out of their reach.
Kone could come back into the reckoning further down on line if the deal becomes cheaper, and it seems Swansea fans must remain patient for now as they wait for news of attacking reinforcements.
There could be developments elsewhere, however, with the likes of Jordi Amat and Alejandro Pozuelo on the radar.
Meanwhile, organisers of Alan Tate's testimonial hope to rearrange the game against Manchester United for next summer.
United had been due to visit SA1 next month, but the fixture has been postponed as Tate's former club are Swansea's opponents on the opening day of the new Premier League season.

Unfortunately for a club of our size, location and stature I dont think getting in early guarantees us anything. As is quoted above many players are happy to wait to see what else is put on the table. All we can do is put an offer in and then its hurry up and wait. As well as fighting off the so called glamour/big clubs, we also have to compete with clubs located in the main cities of England. Much as I hate to say this London is a big attraction as a location for a lot of players. It is not until players have spent time down here that they appreciate what Swansea as a city has to offer. So not only are we having to offer the right financial deal we have to sell Swansea as a city too.
KTF guys for me. I am confident the club is doing all they can and we will only get those players that really want to come here irrelevant of the money. As for those that dont choose to play for us then its their loss and we move on to the next signing. I really dont want players that only come here for ML. He wont be here next season and neither will they. That is why I would rather the board be doing all the contract talks it is them that the player needs to be sold by because it is them that will still be here next season.

Im stunned that you knew exactyly who was on our list mate !

Bottom line is that we are 2nd or 3rd choice for alot of players due to our structure. When player A doesnt get his move to Spurs(for example) because they signed their first choice target then things will start to move elsewhere, we are at the bottom of the food chain in trying to sign the better players, nothing to do with Jenkins or the board or even Laudrup,we aint paying silly money so we go to the back of the que with the rest of the sensible clubs. Its what the bust up was alot to do with, not throwing away stupid money to blow away the bigger clubs.

We will get our 2nd and 3rd choice players as alot of clubs who are intrested in them are at our level..though can still pay more for some weird reason.

Early days yet and we still have a few aces up our sleeve with regards to loan signings so its not all doom and gloom :)
