I think we'll nab a point at Wolves, lose to Spurs and beat Wigan.

Then we'll lose to stoke, win at Everton, then lose to the two Manchester clubs and draw with Chelsea.

This would leave us with 20 points from 14 games.

Basically I think the period from now till the end of November will be the toughest part of our season.

I'd be satisfied with a draw at Wolves, but with the confidence our players have (and near fully fit squad) we can win. Drawing with Spurs would be a realiatic and good outcome, and a win v Wigan. Stoke away will be massively difficult, and again a draw would be seen as a good result.

Really we need to pick up as many points as possible in the next few games, that run of fixtures in November is going to be a killer. My main hope is that if we were to get a drubbing by either Manchester club, the lads will stay positive and keep their heads up. We are flying with confidence at the minute and the team spirit seems really good.

This is a worry. I can forsee a Karl Henry 90 minute assault on either Cabaye or Ben Arfa.

Obviously we won't go the whole season unbeaten, but I can see us being comfortable around Christmas, hopefully not worrying about falling into the relegation dogfight. It would be nice to be safe long before April/May. Part of the problem last year was everyone picking up a lot of points towards the bottom of the table. Ideally we need a few teams to fall away...

But if you look at our games so far, we've improved on last season, obviously not including QPR.

Us 0 - 0 Arsenal (4-4) - Same amount of points, but we kept a clean sheet. Wasn't quite as entertaining mind.
Sunderland 0 - 1 Us (1-1) - Took all three points this time.
    Us 2 - 1 Fulham (0 - 0) - Again, a good three points as opposed to 1.
Villa 1 - 1 Us (1 - 0) - Could've won it but went away with a point instead of the loss we had last season.
Us 3 - 1 Blackburn (1 - 2) - I thought we were fantastic going forward. Wouldn't have minded some better finishing and tighter defence though.

    After 6 games last season - 10th place, 9pts, W:2, D:1, L:3, F:9, A:8, GD:1.
    Compared to us now - 4th place, 12pts, W:3, D:3, L:0, F:7, A:3, GD:4

true true i had noticed we were slightly bettering all our performances and ive always maintained that with a bit of consistency we could be a top 7 team

Not sure about the top 7 part, but the consistency bit is a really big thing for me. Last season we had some amazing results, but then some shockers like losing 3 - 1 to WBA, losing 2 - 0 to Blackpool, the 4 - 0 at Stoke and the 5 - 1 at Bolton. If we can avoid those sort of monumental **** ups and keep 11 players on the pitch at all times, I think we could be a half decent side again. I want to look forward to games and feel optimistic instead of wondering which Newcastle team will actually turn up.

Controversial this but so far the teams who let's say employ a somewhat 'rough em up' approach have all had players sent off against us this season. Is this due to our better ability to retain the ball? And if so what price for a certain midfielder to be given an early bath? To save pardew getting a fine I'll say the ref needs to keep an eye on a heavy tackler in the wolves lineup. I think that may be our key to success there otherwise I'd have it down for a draw. Spurs to end the undefeated run though. The wingers will have too much for our wide players. Even if santon is fit I think spurs could be too much for his introduction.

Must be sad being a Sunderland fan and having nobody to talk to on your own board and having to go on your more illustrious neighbours board to have somebody to talk to.
