So, a new gaffer takes the team up to in-form Bury - can DC mastermind 3 points?

Last Saturday's performance must rate as one, if not the, poorest game of football I have ever watched. But I will forgive the lads that because, the nervous tension was electric. We could not afford to lose. So the tactics seem to be to keep the ball anywhere but within reach of our goal. Unfortunately they seemed to forget that it was better to hack it forward to someone in a blue shirt.
First half Santos was so isolated he may as well have not been on the pitch. In fact the defence stopped bothering to mark him for long periods. The service to him was appalling. The kid didn't have a prayer to get some of the balls pumped in his direction, when anyone bothered that is. At times KM was running into four markers.
Second half IMO Santos was brought into the game. The interplay between Santos, Smith and Harrison, when he arrived. showed great promise.
That result will hopefully be our get out of gaol card.
Tonight's game will pretty much settle any serious relegation fears for whoever wins.
Having seen Bury's two fluke goals against Northampton on the FLS, I reckon the winner will be from which manager is holding the four leaf clover!!
I actually think we could well win this one!!!

That's the spirit Saph - a bit of optimism!

If anything, it seems that DC could be a lucky manager. we shouldn't really have won on Saturday, but we did. Let's hope it continues tonight.

By the way, welcome back! haven't seen you on these pages for a while.

Hi BB. No I have been out of touch for a while. We were seven points above the line when I left and almost even steven on goal diff. What the f**k went wrong? The wheels seem to have come off!! Any way despite the miserable performance, as the game progressed, I think you could see signs of what DC is trying to achieve. The pattern of play showed signs of improvement towards the end. I think he might start tonight with only the obvious change in the middle of the park.

Be happy with a point but Bury 12 games unbeaten at home I'm sticking with my 2-1 Bury victory.
