Both West ham and Cardiff have difficult away games next week at Posh and Leicester. If we can beat Burnley we can get back to top spot by getting a win at Upton Park. With this squad and with Nolan out for West Ham I'm quietly confident we can do it. What do you all think?

Let's be positive. Saints to be back on top on Valentines night!

    COYR!

We must believe! West Ham will be wary of us. Nolan is there captain and an influential player.

I'm gonna say we'll nick it at their place.

If my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle. Don't get ahead of yourself, lamballana lad! We should have learned that we are in the most unpredictable of leagues. Ultimately if we end the season second and the champions are 20 points above us I will care not a jot. Being in the top 2 on April 28 as the final whistle blows is all I care about.

Nolan is the captain, but living in Southend, which is West Ham territory, the Hammers I know and see regularly cannot stand Nolan.

They use words such as lazy, arrogant, dirty, overpaid and over-rated to describe him. In fact, they prefer it when he is not playing.

But I do think we are going to win at Upton Park, I'd love it so I could stick it to the shed-loads of Hammers I know.

I believe we will get back to winning ways against Burnley :D

I would be happy with a draw against West ham but I think we have the ability to win the game :)

I'm not to worried if we are top by the 14th because I think we will slowly creep back to the top by the end of the season and that's what counts :)

Control the controllables. The only games we can affect are our own. If we win every game we will be 2nd minimum...good enough for me.

I really dont like west ham - dont like their style of play and think they have had more luck than us this season to be where they are.

i think we are more than capeable of beating them but there are still many tough games for us away at hull, middleborough, blackpool and burnley at home is no foregone conclusion

Me too, I work with a hammer.

He said to me on Feb 1st, you buy, Sharp, we'll just go and get Maynard AND Vaz Te - like were competing with them on strikers or something.

I can't confess to seeing every West Ham game but when I've seen them play Nolan kept them ticking over and has scored vital goals.

It's eleven v eleven and we are capable of beating them again.

Yes, we take each game as they come as were perfectly capable of losing against Burnley but I don't think it's wrong to look ahead to the West Ham game on a forum.

Hahaha! That could have been a lovely double entendre. I do work with a load of 'tools' though!

We will have to be at our best to beat Burnley. They were one of the best teams I have seen us play this season when we nicked a point at Turf Moor (although we could have stolen all three, but that's another story). They have won eight away games already and current form is two defeats in the last ten.
They have away wins at Hull, Middlesborough and West Ham.
I think we should be a bit more concerned about how we do against Burnley rather than whether we can get back to top spot or beating West Ham at this moment.

our goal advantage is slipping away, a whole pack of teams are on our heels. we do well against teams in the top half, but we need to win the games against the lower teams, for example bristol who took 6 points off us- should not happen

We can only control the controllables, that means we can only win our games not those of our opponents.I think we can finish 1st.
1st or 2nd would be lovely come end of April.:)

Agreed !. I`ve got my tickets for the Coventry game - lets hope Coventry`s fate is sealed one way or another, so they have nothing to play for. Or then again, is it better they do have something to play for ?
