Sure we can. We beat them at the Bridge. We can beat them at the SOL. We are top 6 on merit don't you know.
Hopefully we can get enough early pressure to sneak that all important first goal, if we do that I think we have every chance to get the win!
With Terry back and fit'ish its gonna be hard to see anything more than a draw with them. They seem to be coming back to form again and they are a force to be reckoned when they're back on song! I'll be happy with a draw
thnk if its the same team that started against blackpool i would glady accept a draw now. gordon played brilliantly then, but chelsea are coming back now and are not champions for nothing. yes we beat them away but we had wellbeck playing with gyan and their defense had a shocker. would be a lot more optimistic if we had another striker, were at home and need to take the game to them, but a lone striker and a midfield that is harly free scoring, i'd take a draw right now
Definately take a draw, but looking at the next 7 fixtures the above mentioned could be repeated again? Lets hope Sulley & Sess Sign.
Chelsea are hot favourites with the bookies. Not surprising I guess given their steamrollering of a disappointing Bolton. Probability according to the bookies: 17% SAFC win 23% Draw 60% Chelsea win So a 40% expectation that we will get something from the game. TBH, I think they are still underestimating Sunderland. I might be wrong and we shall see on Tue night.
i think we can get something, we are where we are on merit and have played well this season. that being said, chelsea were terrific against bolton, terry is back, drogba is back, essien and malouda looked good. if they play like that again, it will be difficult for us. we have to hope we score first and take the game to them, try and shock the confidence they developed v bolton, because they were shaky to start with but grew in stature as the game went on. also, tough we outplayed them at the bridge with their star players off form, ill and injured, we will be missing welbeck, catts is either out or will be struggling for match sharpness. for us to get anything out of this game i think muntari could be very important - IF we sign him, and then IF he is fit and match sharp, he won't be cowed by the spectacle and will go toe-to-toe with essien, who in my opinion is chelsea's most dangerous player.
Definitely take a point. However, a 0-4 against a Bolton team who always lose against Chelsea could be a false dawn (only 2 games ago they were losing at wolves). Would love a second striker and get at them early as would be interesting to see their reaction going a goal down.
The new crowd surfer will get its first proper run out too. Sunderland Echo Just a bit miffed that M McF gets the glory when he was fairly slow to support the initiative until it got proper momentum going.
