We're in the CL proper so can we now strengthen with some classy talent? Without being greedy I'd like to see: Zarate And Hazard And One of Martin, montolivio or schweinsteiger (optimistic I know) And One of mertesacker, Cahill or Abiol. And not arteta or jagielka. Both are good but approaching 30 and jags is far too injury prone. If we could get in these players I would be very optimistic about the season, although it'd take a while to bed in. But the players there now are looking good, just need some competition and depth and to offload bendtner!! Overall very relieved that tonight went our way.
As I've said before, if Arsenal sign Eden Hazard of Lille this transfer window, I will change my name to CanarySpuds, or something equally derogatory towards the best team in North London. Not happening.
Thats a crap reason to sign someone, just because they have a good name. If we sign players on that logic, theres bound to be a korean called "yu fuk up" playing for us in the future.
Give the lad a contract I say! Back to the OP and there's no way we'll sign 4 players in before the transfer window closes. Also, in Jagielka's defence I was under the impression he had an epic injury record right up until he did his cruciate. Even then he's been good since. I'd not be unhappy to get him.
Of Mr Jazz's suggestions, I thought some of those names had already ruled out moving... However I'm sure Arsene would want to bring in more players. We do not have enough to go through an entire season and this year, Arsenal has to do precisely that with Pool snapping at our heels for the fourth place. We should be a Top Three team but this is impossible in the absence of reinforcements. As I said in another thread, the board has to be realistic in making offers of purchase bids and player salaries or we will be forever scouring round the bottom of the barrel or in apprentice territory.
