If we go to the FA do you reckon they would have another look at the penalty incident and give Wickham a nice big ban for us?

WTF was he doing back there anyway? He's been pretty poor in the last few games like and i'd rather see us play with two proper wingers intead af a CF being pushed out wide. Give Buckley and AJ a start with Fletcher in the lone striker role.

Thought he did ok against Everton. Not brilliant, but not bad for a striker being played out wide

I don't disagree with him being back there. He was one of the reasons Southampton annihilated us as he did zero tracking back (as did Buckley) and he was woeful. It looked a great tackle from the stands.... Just goes to show that your eyes can play tricks!

I truly can;t understand how, if the ref thinks it's a foul, it isn;t a red card. That, to me, means that the ref has doubt in his mind.

About ten minutes earlier than that, Lukaku rattled a shot off the post and the ref had no idea whether it was a goal kick or a corner - and he gave a corner. 50/50 decision which the ref had to guess and it goes against us? The ref, until after the penalty decision, had a pretty OK game.

Think I,d like to see that given a go as well, Buckley did cause some trouble when he came on

I thought Wickham had a decent game yesterday, and certainly put a shift in..

He grafted yesterday, which as you'll have gathered was my issue with him Monday.

As said, looked a great tackle from my viewpoint, fairly clear pen and red from the replays like.

Still, rather have a proper winger out on both channels.

This is my main gripe tbh, not Connor's fault like. Although I have a sneaky feeling Poyet is (in part) continuing to play him to try and get him to sign a new contract so we don't lose out on $$$.

I still think he could be a decent CF in time, but a winger he is not. Hence a ban would be quite helpful coz it would mean Poyet could "drop" him without falling out with regard to contract talks!!

It was a penalty and a red card, but he was doing Browns job or should he have made the challenge ? but Howard obstructed the ball at the other end so it was a foul, but he did not touch it with his hands to be fair. Some firsts for me over the weekend, like Hart's '2 kick ' free kick, when he touched the ball he set it in play, it is garbage that he had to kick it out of the penalty area, since when did this rule come out ?, and the t v punter saying the ref had great eyesight ! cobblers as well. So what happens in the middle of the pitch if the same thing happens ?. The fact is Hart should have told one of his players to come for the ball after he touched it, so to me touching it twice means a free kick to QPR surely, good for us mind that QPR did not get the goal to stand.

Why Buckley n AJ? Why not give Mav 5-6 games? We will be expected to lose against Chelsea and Man C so stick him in then.
AJ has never shown he's an £11 mil player to me. The goals against Newcastle apart he has been mediocre to put it mildly imo.
Buckley is similar to AJ in that he can beat a man, when he wants, but is another who won't tackle, head the ball etc.
Stick Mav in and play both Fletch n Connor in the middle until Giacch n Alvarez come back.

The ref was atrocious to be honest and like you, my initial thoughts were that it was a great tackle and the twat took a dive but watching it back on motd it was a clear pen and he should have walked.

My issue is that he just can't tackle and if you get a chance look back at the last 3 games and you will agree, he consistently fouls. Typical forward really. My other issue is that he can't play as a wide man and a bloke of his height should on the end of crosses, not supplying them.

I'm not a big fan of Buckley tbh mate but i think he will do a better job on the wing than Connor and Fletcher is crying out for some decent service in the middle, two wingers might give him that service.

He is a liability on the wing he tries hard but loses possession or gives away free kicks far too often imo, I would like to see a change out wide in the next game or two. On another tack I think Catts and Bridcutt could play in the same team especially away from home in the tougher fixtures, even if this means moving lars onto one wing as he can send over a good cross.
