or even better? Our last 4 games, 2 home and 2 away, have averaged 2 points per game. If we could continue that return for the remainder of the season, that would give us another 58 points to add to the 9 we have, a total of 67 for the season. Last season Man. City finished fourth with 66 points. Just saying
Too soon to say, we seem to have arrested the early season slump and 3 points against Swansea on Monday will do nicely, but we will probably have other tricky patches this season. If we can keep a settled side over the next few games then we should continue moving up the table
I think the way we play and the squad we have, we are more likely to be streaky and win in braces or threes and then lose in braces and threes. Looking at the table I would predict a mid table position even with a low points tally, but I think the top 4/5 will dominate this season and not drop points like last year. Statto time.. Since promotion or average key stats are Pos: 11.25 Points: 47.5 Won: 12.25 Drawn: 10.75 Lost: 15 and under Hughes Pos: 9th Points: 51.67 Won: 14 Drawn: 9.67 Lost: 14.33 Our highest wins tally is 15 (under Hughes 14/15) and our lowest loss tally is 13 (Under TP 9/10) which would theoretically yield 55 points. The only way to achieve the dizzy heights of 60+ points is to reduce our loss tally to single digits which would be a very tall order with 4 losses on the board already.
Good points Smithers. The key to achieving 7 8 or 9th place is not beating the top 6 but beating those teams inthe Second Division of the Prem. Last year, with Leicester didnot comply withthat statement
