Both of the above were out of the league race and had a deficit to overcome in the Champions League and went on to win it.

Both were given no chance to win the CL those years too.

If you win 3 0 on Wednesday it might be worth a punt<laugh>

    No

If we win 3-0 our next game will be a cowardly loss.

The only way united has a chance is if they sacked moyes before the Olympiacos game and i can't see that happening.

in 2005 \2012 at this stage of the comp you'd have given Liverpool\Chelsea as much chance as you give United today.

If AVB was still incharge we would of lost to napoli. Sacking him gave the club a huge lift and we managed to overcome a 3-1 loss in the first leg.

What United have now, which is ironic after all the jibes thrown at us about Woy, they have a manager many didnt want and many more were unsure of, the outcome is the same too.

Liverpool and Chelsea are Cup teams though.

We are not a cup team... Not a league team either this season! :emoticon-0107-sweat

Agent Moyes will make sure it doesn't happen. We had Rafa the chavs had Drogba who have United got, an 18 year old the entire franchise depends upon. :D

It is entirely possible, but unlikely, as was both the Liverpool and Chelsea wins.
Lightning may strike three times......but I really doubt it.
Even if they get past Olympiakos they will have to face PSG, Bayern, Barca or someone of that ilk in the next round! Cant see it happening!

No such thing as a cup team, it's called inconsistency.

If they put their backs to the wall and pray like your lot maybe?

or like us let the other team go three up by half time so they think it's already over <laugh>

I'd be amazed if we even get past Olympiakos to be fair, and it might not be a bad thing to lose Wednesday night, as we're only going to take an absolute hammering in the last 8 even if we do scrape through

Nah I've said from the beginning, he was always going to get a whole season, no matter what happens. Probably even 2.
If United are in this position this time next season, he is a goner. But I cant see them sacking him this season.

No point sacking him now anyway, there is nothing to play for, cept maybe a Europa League spot.
Sacking him now would be pointless.

I think we all expect it will be at the end of the season.

    Which is wednesday night.

Hopes are up ( expect them to be crushed )

No point sacking him then, as nothing will be retrievable after Wednesday. Might aswell sack him and the backroom staff now, and get Mike Phelan and Rene Maulensteen back for Wednesday night
