looking at the Official Site - I note comments about Millwall tickets.
Apparently the Club can only accept application for the remaining 'few' tickets if you attend in person at the ground. And that only previous customers can make any purchase............ I appreciate that the main reason for this is probably to 'vet' just who will be trying to get into the Home sections of the ground -- albeit that this might be a little bit late !!

The Club states it can't accept any more online applications. The reason given is that it has nearly reached capacity !!! ( whatever that means !! ). This ambiguous reason was the same as the one given by the Club for not permitting STH to use their 'Friends for £5' vouchers for the Coventry and Millwall game --yet -- we know that there were over 4000 empty seats at the Coventry game - so it was hardly a case of anywhere near 'capacity.'

And as for not permitting online sales - surely this would be a 'safer' way of ensuring that only Gills fans get tickets for 'Home' sections -- because if applicants for the remaining tickets need to be 'previous' customers, then surely their details will be on the data base !

An expression relating to organising a party in a brewery springs to mind.

And can we expect an even bigger circus if we do scrape 6th place.

So many confusing messages or should I say ridiculous one's originally I've lost the plot with it!

I think the club should be concerning itself with the rumours circulating that Wall have a substantial number of tickets in the home end, I just hope these rumours are unfounded and that the club monitored it's data base on the sales closely. I've certainly seen no evidence to support Wall have tics there, but it will not be the first time I've seen a lack in monitoring. I remember when a number of Leeds fans were in the Medway Stand Lower, as you may know if you read my previous thread about the guy sitting next to me, when we got chatting he even pointed out to me where his mates and family were sitting, not many rows behind us. Could be concerning if this has happened with Wall. Not that I have a problem with them but just saying it could end up being a stewarding or policing nightmare if it kicks off.

Edit; ok been doing some finding out, yes it appears Wall do have tics in the home end. Some claiming to be on the halfway line and some in Rainham End.

As I said in another thread I would have done exactly the same as Wall fans if desperate for tics, we should have given your lot a bigger allocation, all they've done now is move the problem around the stadium <doh>

Online ticketing has probably been removed as that is the easiest way of generating a new customer number. When the system is up, it asks for you details whether you are a registered customer or not. If not then it gives you the chance to register and will automatically create a customer number for you. Due to that glitch it was probably easier for Wall fans to buy tickets online with their brand new customer number which had just been generated, than it would have been through the office.

I suppose they would be able to check their records if those customer id's had purchased tickets before, but I bet its just an online booking system that the office doesn't really have to touch very often or check. Assumably that is the reason why the option online ticketing was removed.

Thanks for your input - it probably is the 'technical' answer which I sought. It still leaves the question as to how anyone can circumnavigate an issue of obtaining tickets if they are supposed to have purchased tickets for previous Gills matches - which no fan of Millwall, Coventry etc are likely to do ! I suppose that condition by the Club was just 'talk' - intended to dissuade fans of Millwall - and if any 'once-a-season' so called Gillingham fan wanted a ticket, they'd have to go to the ticket office ( if they could remember the way ! ) - thus making it a bit awkward for opposing fans - who probably know the route to Priestfield better than some residents of Gillingham............. I'd better stop here before I really go too far.

I expect the club did not help itself in the second phase by attaching the Coventry game as a condition...what brain dead moron thought up that idea. Sorry i know that's a bit strong but maybe its time the club employed someone who has some knowledge of supporters and following a football club then they would appreciate what a pigs ear they made of this again.

In my current quest to be as funny as Sean Lock ( ARGRS thread ), I can't resist the temptation to say that I'll bet there will be a huge amount of oinking happening at Billy Smart Scally's circus if we end up 6th on Sunday...... sadly we've seen it too often.... it would be funnier than my wit if it wasn't true. And it will probably be easier to get play-off tickets from Millwall than Priestfield.

oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink ( one or two oinks would have been funny- but not this many - Sean Lock's 'safe.' ) I wonder if I did have a couple of 'pig's' ears, would I have been able to better hear Sean Lock's act. ? I suppose you'd say that, if I have the face of a babboon, I'm hardly likely to have ears of a pig. oink oink.
