They are currently beating West Brom away 3-1 and if they win, they'll be level with Chelsea on points (50) and only 5 away from Spurs. To be honest, i'd much rather Newcastle make it than either Spurs and Chelsea. I've always had a soft spot for Newcastle since Kevin was incharge when he played such exciting attacking football with the likes of Aspirilia etc.... Would be brilliant if both Spurs and Chelsea miss out and Newcastle make 4th. But I can't see it. They picked up a few injuries today for a start they need Cisse,Ba and HBA to start most of these games. Also at the back they need Coloccini for every game. Oh and you missed out Chelsea (a) from their fixtures.
Including Chelsea, they might be able to get around 15 points from those games. They need Tottenham and Chelsea to fail big time.
I don't see why they can't, for the whole season everyone's downplayed their chances saying they would eventually falter and fall off, yet with 8 games to go, they sit level on points with Chelsea, so there's no reason they can't, the chances are slim, but impossible? No. They have a vert impressive attacking line up.
To be honest I think they might get 5th if chelsea win in the quarters of the cl or make it further in the cup. Then they might take their eye off the premier league and newcastle could pip them to 5th. I dont see them getting top 4 because i think coloccini got injuried today. If he isnt out then it is possible of course
Losing Steven Taylor was a massive loss to Newcastle. Credit to them that they have managed to hang in there since then. I like Newcastle as well, their fans deserve it.
OK so I think this thread needs to be revived If Castle win they are 3 points ahead of the Chavs and 2 points behind us and SPurs
Got to be honest, when I saw the fixture list after West Brom with Liverpool and Swansea afterwards, I didn't expect us to be getting 6 points from them at all. Those two games and West Brom (our bogey team) was the toughest set of fixtures I could see in our remaining games, so 9 points from those 3 is just bonkers, and I honestly think that if we avoid underestimating the remaining games, there could be another 9 ahead before Man City.
I still don't think it will happen for us, but I didn't think we'd beat West Brom, Liverpool and Swansea. We just need to get our heads down and keep playing our football and doing our best every game. 5th is in our hands since we've still got Chelsea to play at Stamford Bridge, will be a very very tough game that. Can't see 4th happening for us though, but I'm still pinching myself that we're even in the top 8!
Arsenal fans seem sure they are guaranteed top 4 or even top 3 but Newcastle could actually be above you guys by Monday. Nothing is set in stone yet. I for one hope Newcastle keep their run of form going so if we don't make top 4 Spurs or Arsenal will join us in Europa
Thank you for your kind words but I suspect we will finish 6th or maybe 5th at a push. If we can run Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea close then I will be happy

Newcastle could be above you by Monday if you fail to beat City. Stupid and delusional thing to say. They have a far more favourable run in than you as well.
